Has all 4 number 1's in the Final Four...maybe he's preparing for life after the Presidency at ESPN....that's weak, Mr. President.

We were discussing this at lunch today, and came to the conclusion that it is actually bold to take all 1 seeds in your bracket's final four, seeing as it has only happened one time.
..but I still don't like B-ROCK. :D
EDIT: Yes, it is still douchebaggery at its finest.

It's a total douche move. His politics are his politics, but picking all #1 seed's is douchebaggery at its highest.

I have 4 #1's in the Final 4 in my brackets as well. I've got a good number of early round upsets, but I think there's a very good chance we see those teams at the end. They seem to be the only teams capable of a sustained run of wins against this level of competition, without a let-down.

Won't happen.
Come Monday...at least one will be gone.

Quite possible, I agree. Crazy year. But trying to pick which one is too dangerous.

I haven't filled out brackets in about five years I think. I really hate the practice and really I hate when people get upset that Northern Iowa beats Kansas, because now Judy in accounting is going to win the $500 office pool, simply because she picked UNI because she likes the color purple.
I remember being in a bar watching the entire place cheer for Pitt over us in that Sweet 16 game. There were about 5 true Pitt fans, which is saying something, since a ton of people from Pittsburgh live out here. Anyway, it drove me nuts that all of these Penn State, West Virginia, Maryland idiots cheering against Xavier so their bracket doesn't bust.
Anyway, having said all of that...what exactly is the point of filling out a bracket if t the end of the day you end up picking what the committee says are the four best teams?
Why bother?

...because competition is fun. And it's winning time. Especially for Judy in accouting. What a legend.

I'm with you. It's much more fun to cheer for upsets than be worried about your bracket and cheering for teams you only want to win due to your brackets. Screw brackets and bring on the upsets

I agree Brackets suck. I could care less about mine. I haven't even looked at filling one out this year. If X wasn't in the field I'd probably put more emphasis on a bracket.

Honestly, I don't care to know what the President does with his non-presidential time. I get that he's human, and that he does some things like the rest of us, I just don't want to hear about it. I never like hearing that the President is "on vacation", either, even though I'm sure there's more work on a Presidential vacation than there is in my office in a busy week.

I used to run the office pool years back, on paper brackets. Judy in accounting, Doris at the front desk, Hugh, the one handed janitor who would close down the men's room right after lunch...because he HAD to clean it then; they ALWAYS won.
I never won. Never. One year I had Louisville as my "Sleeper." Well I was right, they went right to sleep in the first round that year. I had Wake winning it all. Except they got bounced in the second round. One year Temple was going to go far.
So really, it's not a competition with Mickey, from facilities, who will give his money when he gives you his money. It's competition with yourself. That you don't need that. Just enjoy the games and punch that douche who lives in Georgia but wants Marquette to win, because he has them going to the Elite 8 in his third office bracket.

I have to say I agree with this. I don't care about brackets anyway, but I certainly don't care about his opinion on the brackets.
I also don't understand why we have to hear about the president being on vacation. I hardly ever go on vacation. Mostly because I blow my money on whiskey and wom...more whiskey.
Great the president picked Marquette. Now get back to work. Not saying every moment of his time should be spent doing something positive, it's just damn, not hearing from you for a couple of days isn't going to freak me out.

Yeah. Some of you sound a teensy bit bitter that someone other than you won, and that that someone isn't the font of basketball knowledge that you happen to be. When I was working I ran our pool for ten years and it was a lot of fun. The same person never won twice. One year a 7 year old won, and I think that was my favorite year outside of the year I won. I think filling out brackets makes it more interesting. Otherwise, I really don't care who wins when Northern Iowa plays Kansas or The Little Sisters of the Poor play Ohio State. The only game I'd care about is X's game. At least this way I have a slightly more vested interest in the other games.

In other news, ESPN didn't run the footage of President Obama's desired bracket... He actually thinks the 15 and 16 seeds should get an automatic bye to the sweet 16 since they don’t have the same advantages as the 1-14 seeds…

This sums up perfectly why I hate brackets. Thanks lady.
The only interest in the greatest tournament of the year is by filling out your guesses? Not actually watching UNI take out the tournament favorite?
Brackets I guess dumbs down the sport for people. Glad the 7 year old won!

Ya, I agree. I have never picked four 1 seeds in the final 4, but I think this is the year I do. It probably wont happen but with the field the way it is this year, I cannot for the life of me figure out which team it would be to make it to the final 4 in each bracket other than the 1 seeds.
I think Uconn could continue their run, I think OSU could lose, I think Pitt couls lose. The 1 seed I feel most confident with is Kansas, and I ave them winning it all. I also, however, had them winning it all when the lost to Bucknell, and Bradley, and Northern Iowa. So what do I know?

I wonder what the people in Japan are thinking when they are trying to bury their dead and stop their nuclear reactors from melting down. .
Millions and millions of people are suffering everyday with unimaginable things...if that's the case, why do any of us fill out brackets?
C'mon...you're perspective has to be a little more mature than that.

Wouldn't he get more bonus points if he said this year "I really haven't had time to look at the brackets, nothing more I would like to talk basketball but I am busy". .
No...in fact, he'd lose respect in my eyes, because I know he'd be lying. He's a sports fan...there's nothing wrong with having legitimate interests outside of work...even for the President...that's part of what makes him liked/disliked the most.
Do you think people actually vote based on his actual politics...maybe 10%....probably less.
The Presidency is a 24 / 365 job...he's entitled to filling out some brackets every now and then. That man has more stressors in his life than anyone can imagine.

Anyone who uses the disasters in Japan and the unrest in Libya/Middle East for their own political gain is pathetic. Period.
Still, I'd be curious to hear if Mike Krzyzewski is telling Obama to worry about the economy and world affairs this year given that Duke is in his Final 4...
