On the plus side, you won't have Dayton fans rooting against us.

There's that!
Here's what we nee to do, as fans. Get as many as your friends, family members, neighbors, whoever you can find to come to the games.
Why?
First just because our team deserves the support.
Second, because if we take down SD State, we'll have to play either vandy, and they will REALLY be gunning for us, being MBalcomb and revenge from last year. Or we'll get Louisville and they bring a pant load of fans with them. We will have to be on our best game as fans.
I'm going to do my best to save as much voice as I can, because I want to be the loudest idiot in the stands next week!!!!!

The women got absolutely hosed on the region. OSU is 22-9 and they get to play in Columbus then Dayton. X has 2 losses - Duke (very suspect no call at the end) and Stanford, who just flat out beat them. X should not have to go to Spokane and most likely play the Zags in their backyard.

Gonzaga would be dangerous, but if they can get to the Sweet 16 they'd be doing Xavier a huge favor by knocking out both Iowa and UCLA. I wouldn't mind that at all along with a rubber match with the Zags should that be the case.
But to any South Dakota State fans lurking, we wouldn't want to overlook our matchup with either Louisville or Vandy, right?

SDST is 2-0 vs this same group of Gonzaga players. Won in Spokane in 2008, and in opening game in Brookings last season.
Bit of a down season for the Jacks this year, but are 11-1 for the last 12 games.

Yeah, I noticed the great end to the season that you guys had. Playing well at the right time of year.
The offense seems to be quite good. Impressive numbers -- 45% shooting as a team including 37% from 3. Pretty deep bench too. Gonna be a tough game.

Sounds an awful lot like the team we played in the opener last year. Remember all those 3's they jacked?????

As a Jacks fan, I hope SDSU gives Xavier a good game. However, logic says that Xavier, with their high record and playing on their home court, should blow the Jacks out. However, I have some hope given that we gave OU a game on their home court last year (within 7 with a few minutes left) and also giving Baylor a close game in Texas in 2009 during the NCAA's. We're all holding on to the hope that this game will be close! ...but you never know! I have Indiana connections and my younger sister's team played against Phillips' team in 2006 in Indy. If they do go on to win this game, I hope her and Harris make it all the way to Indy for their long overdue homecoming!

SDSU tied the 3's in a NCAA play-off win amount in 2009 in their first NCAA game vs TCU at 16. Shame Coach AJ told them to quit taking 3's with 8:30 left on the clock. BTW, the two best every 3's shooters at SDSU were in that game, and will be again vs Xavier.
Xavier twin towers though should be the difference. Hope that there's a better crowd than 2500 though.
