Most of us were over it a long time ago. I'll be disgusted if I see Xavier fans booing Thad Matta.

Exactly. If your joy in life is getting tickets to Cleveland to boo That Matta, you got problems.

Xavier fans already made their point down in Lexington in 2007 - just move on. I doubt you'll see Thad Matta watching the Xavier game when he's going to be preparing Ohio State for a night game on Friday anyhow.

Should both teams play on Sunday, then the dynamic becomes a little interesting.

No reason to boo the guy who elevated X to a higher level and taught the school how to win again in the big dance.

Spot on, steve. Matta's exit was clodlike, and yes, he needlessly pissed off some fans. But he didn't screw over Bobinski in the deal, and what the hell, it wasn't like he knocked over an old lady for a ten-spot laying on the ground. Which people will do.

And it was a long time ago. Move along, nothing to see here.

I know people don't hate THAT he left... but rather HOW he left. Bon c'mon... 4th year head coaches don't usually get big money contracts from desperate AD's who fire their coaches in the month of June.

Besides, it hasn't been all glory for Matta in Columbus. No matter what he does he is 2nd fiddle. They have the #1 basketball team in the country and all anyone in Columbus is talking about is Jim Tressel and coverup-gate of tat-gate.

I was in Columbus last week when the Tressel story broke. There is a well listened to radio show on 97.1 in Columbus called Common Man & The Torg that does a segment called "Would You Rather" where they propose hypothetical sports situations and callers call and vote. They did "Would you rather O$U bball win the National Championship and O$U football be on 2 years probation OR O$U bball out in the first weekend and no more penalties for the football team..."

Needless to say, the ladder won by a LARGE margin.

X fans need to move on and let Scottie Pippin... err, Thad Matta go.

It Thad didn't move on we wouldn't have Sean. If we didn't have Sean then we wouldn't have our great coach Chris Mack. Folks, lets not dwell on the past.

Even if you wanted to boo him, your voice would be drowned out by the OSU tards.

I was mad too when and how Matta left. But. 1)he left the program in better shape 2)he elavated national exposure. I wish him and Miller both the best of luck. Their continued success only benefits X. We have a coach now with tenacity, a high basketball iq, and a great ability to recruit. Really the beat qualities of both former coaches. Let's move on.

From all accounts, Matta regrets the way he left Xavier. You cannot blame him for taking the job and he took our program to a new level. It's rather petty to want to boo a man who has nothing but good things to say about this program and did some great things when he was here.

This is probably sacrilege but I hope OSU goes far in the tourney - until they meet up with us, of course. They have a great team and they play a great brand of basketball.
