St. Mary's had an extra game to schedule and is trying to boost their NCAA resume.
Weber State's star player suffered an injury earlier in the season and this game will put him under the percentage necessary to get a medical redshirt.
It's bizarre but not unprecedented. SMC did the same thing last year (?) to demonstrate to the committee that they were deserving of a bid with a 100% Patrick Mills. Didn't work.

St. Mary's has done this for a couple of years. Play a game after conference tourney in order to stay fresh (or at least that is the idea)

If this is true then hats off to St Mary's.

Anything that devalues conference tournaments is fine with me.

beating weber state at home will do nothing to boost their ncaa resume.

They'd better not lose - that could kill their at-large chances.

You got to be kidding me. How is this legal? X should schedule a mid major during our week off. This should not be allowed.

Why shouldn't it be allowed? Is there something magical about conference tournament week?
And why should XU play another game? XU has proven pretty much everything it has to prove this season.
