Congrats to Sean Miller

On a well deserved honor of Coach of the Year in the Pac-10. He took that team from the scrap heap, to a top 15 team late this year. I saw him on Jim Rome this afternoon and he spoke of how much he owed to Xavier. He spoke highly of Chris Mack and wished us well.

He also spoke of how difficult a decision it was to leave for Arizona, but it was an opportunity "he couldn't pass up".

Not sure how it willl work out in the Big 10, but it would be awesome to see COY awards for Chris Mack, Sean Miller, and Thad Matta.

Say what you want about Miller and Matta, but they are have done nothing to disrespect Xavier recently. They are a part of our coaching tree, and it is something to be proud of to continue to put quality men into the profession without our program missing a beat.

Next man in.....congrats to Sean Miller, and to Coach Mack as COY's of their respective conferences.

I agree. Sean is a good guy and I cheer for him and his program.

I have also moved past the Thad Matta thing. I don't like the guy and i don't think I ever will. However, our program is sooooo much bigger than one person and so is OSU's program.

It's a message board... people share opinions here. While I do hate it when online boards become juvenile insult fests, but I don't think responding to a Sean Miller post in a XavierHoops board with a negative opinion of him whilst avoiding work at my job is that reprehensible.

It seems to me that Sean realized that final press conference he had after he took the Arizona job really made him look bad because every time I've heard an interview with him since then, it seems like he goes out of his way to mention Xavier in a good light.
I don't harbor any ill-will towards him. He left us in better shape than what he inherited, which was still a great situation.

Who can be upset about ex-coaches when we have Chris Mack? All things have lead to this and I believe he will serve us well for the duration of his tenure, however long that may be. I believe he is also media and fan savvy enough to avoid an ungraceful exit should it come to that. He will do right by us and, more importantly, by his teams.

So now, I am just happy that Xavier's name continues to be associated with winning.

In all seriousness, I'm not as much of a dick in real life... but sports isn't "real life" to me... Sports is an escape. It is a game, afterall. It's fun to have rivals. The only real reason I began hating UC and Dayton is because I went to Xavier and they hated us. I never asked for a reason why, I just got on the bus. Because it's fun. I'm going to root against Sean Miller, Thad Matta, and whoever else decides to get off our bus for someone elses.

To me, being happy for these guys is like saying you're happy that you're ex that dumped you found a new man and is happily married. Barf.

We compete on a national level. Sean Miller and Thad Matta are the enemies. I don't need to congratulate the guy who won the PAC 10 COY just as I don't need to congratulate the COY of the Big 12. Well maybe I do.

I wish them well in life, but in basketball they stand in the way.
