Adrion that is. I was amazed to read he is still playing ball! Wouldn't this be his 5th year out of high school?

he's got his UC Clermont team into the USCAA national championships semi game in Pennsylvania.
Strange to see a guy his age, with that talent, at that level. Hope he's doing as well in his educational pursuit as he is on the court.

"UNIONTOWN, PA - UC-Clermont's Adrian Graves scored 32 points, 21 in the first half to lead the Cougars to victory over Southern Maine CC, 109-76 in the quarterfinal round of the USCAA National Tournament. Graves also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists. Travis Donald added 14 points and ten rebounds for Clermont. UC-Clermont will play NHTI in the semi-finals, Friday at 1:15 p.m"

Good for him. He seemed to have a pretty tough road but hopefully he's enjoying being a star on a team and winning.

28 points in today's semi final, leads his team to a 90-86 win over NHTI and into the championship tomorrow night.

That's great to hear. He's in Jason Love's year, so with the transfer year, I guess it's his last season.

So, this is Community College, right? Is this NCAA or NAIA or neither.

He might actually have eligibility left- not in NCAA but in some other organization.

Good luck to the kid. I hope he can land somewhere where basketball can support him.

I often heard Graves was a completely different player in practice. Graves somehow earned minutes on that deep 2008 team. Sean Miller wouldn't have given them to him out of charity.

In 2007-2008 I took a night class in the Schiff Conference Room that overlooks the arena. On more than one occasion I peered out the window and saw Graves by himself in the gym. Although it didn't work out here, I'm glad it paid off for him. All the best Adrion!

Thanks for posting.

I was always rooting hard for Graves, but for some reason it just never worked out at X. I know Dow repeatedly said back in the day that he hoped one day Graves would let him tell his story. Apparently he has led a pretty rough life with some tough breaks.

Glad to hear he is doing well.

It is community college, and whatever level it is has no affiliation with the NCAA. I doubt he has any NCAA time left, but I don't know if they even have limits in community college. It's a glorified rec league, but it IS college basketball.

Best wishes to AG, hope life treats him well.

He had transferred to Bowling Green. I can't find any info what happened there and how he ended up where he is now. Dow did get a little bit out of him one time, talking about how the drug dealers on his block left him alone because of his basketball ability, and the thousand dollar bets that used to take place on his pick-up games between those kinds of folks.

Dude has had a tough life, hopefully he has a national championship and a degree waiting for him.

As someone who grew up in those neighborhoods, I can say that is fairly accurate. I did my time on the corners, but it was obvious that we kept those who looked like they could get away off the corners. It is a life that not many can ever understand or really appreciate unless you've lived it yourself.
