Did anyone else see the replay of that? I hope the guy is ok, because he got absolutely blasted right to his face.
Note to self, when a 6'4, 210 pound guy tries to jump you, don't throw your hands up as if on a rollercoaster...cover up man, pill bug it.
PS, nice hat old dude.
I HATE dayton.

I did see him get absolutely blasted in glorious slow motion HD. It was hilarious. To me it wasn't even the best part of that series of events though. Lyons going through Johnson's (I believe) legs with the dribble and for the fast-break that led to the above foot to face was much sweeter.
BTW, doesn't that picture summarize what being a Flyer fan is like perfectly? You keep showing up to games hoping for the best but alas, you end up getting kicked in the face. By your own players.
I just wish we were as classy as they are.

Guy deserves it- He was going up to grab the ball as the UD player was coming to save it. Gotta try and protect yourself and make sure the Home Team player has the safest fall he can...this guy was nearly out of his chair going for the ball.
In all honesty though- I do hope he is ok.

That hurt to watch. It looked as though the poor guy was still receiving medical attention a couple plays later. Bet he didn't see the end of the game, and was probably better off for it.

Typical UD player...after kicking the guy in the face, Williams didn't even check to see if he was ok. Just walked away and seemed annoyed that the guy's face touched his foot.
My UD grad wife even made a comment about how classless he was for not checking on the poor bastard

What was brutal??
The foot to the face? Being seen on National TV wearing a Flyers t-shirt?? Rooting for a team like Dayton?? All of the above?? Personally I think the foot to the face is the least of his worries.

Haha! I noticed this too - and if I remember correctly - wasn't it Lyons & McLean that went over to help the guy up? I recall two of our guys heading over there right after it happened as the punk from UD just walked away...

Happy too oblige. FYI the original said ESPN on the banner but I thought Xavier would look better, so I changed it.

Saw the foot to the face play from up in 408. Well sort off, I know I shouted "third row". It looked pretty impressive and owing to the catwalks and stuff it looked at first like the Dayton player crashed into a metal pole.
Then we realized what happened and were in disbelief and disdain at how it appeared there was no apology (where is this class they speak of) nor did anybody real look like they were checking up with the fan.

Look at all the old people in that picture. Good lord they make our retirement community of the first 5 rows of the 100s look like a funeral.

Can't rep you, Mad. The Man has his foot on my rep button. Anyone got the Pontiff's back on this one?

I heard the guy's mom passed out and later disowned him when he called her that night and said some black dude shoved a foot and a half down his throat.

When you watch the replay, Paul Williams doesn't even check the injured fan. Then his teammate (Chris Wright) comes over and helps Williams but not the fan. Then you see Tu Holloway come over and help the fan, followed shortly by Lyons.
These two are alleged "punks" according to U.D. fans, yet they are helping the hurt fan. Saint Williams and Saint Wright just stare either indifferently or stupidly. Is there a question of class?

PS, nice hat old dude.
The Old dude is my old man (class of '64). I should have been in the seat to his left but had to coach my son's game at the SAME TIME!!!!

What is that about God working in mysterious ways and protecting us from harm. Your son's game might have saved you from some bad injuries. But wait if that was your seat, then you may have given the ticket to somebody you know. Anoybody out there we should be praying for to recover from a foot plant from a UD player?

It appeared that the foot to the face guy was on press row, or something similar to that, at the arena.

Not the seat to the left of the footface....the seat to the left of the old dude with the nice hat in the background....i'd have been safe from harm....but I appreciate the sentiment.
