Strengths:
If you're going to be undersized, you have to play hard and play smart. Dingle does both. He sees the floor exceptionally well and is an astute passer, especially from the high post. When he catches inside, he's patient and probes the defense. Has good feet and can get himself near the rim and finish. He owns a very strong feel and basketball brain.

Weaknesses:
Will have to watch his body so that he doesn't put on too much weight. He's probably destined to guard bigs unless he grows or his frame changes. Maybe he can evolve into a small forward if he can guard the position and that would require him pumping up his ball skills.

Bottom Line:
The bloodlines are there. His brother was a standout at UMass and Dingle clearly loves to compete and play. His college decision will be interesting. Will he chase the big BCS names or will he pick a place like his brother and have a larger role early in his career? Also, we want to let him develop physically and see where he is heading into his senior year. This young man will appeal to coaches because he brings it, is coachable and loves to play the game.

Thanks SixFig. The kid sounds good, although a bit undersized heightwise.

GO MUSKIES!

Read this in an article earlier today....

Powell, who has trained NBA players such as Danny Green, Lance Stephenson and Chris Douglas-Roberts, hasn't hesitated to push Dingle hard.

Powell recently teamed Dingle with St. John's-bound guard Jevon Thomas of Our Saviour New American for a 2-on-2 game against the tandem of Jerry Boswell (Dingle's cousin, who plays at St. Patrick HS in New Jersey) and Michael Gilchrist, who' headed to Kentucky and regarded by many as the top high school player in the country.

"Daniel's the most complete, versatile player in NYC," Powell said. "He could play all five positions comfortably; he could put the ball on the floor at the point, face up to the basket, and his basketball IQ is strong.

"He can make it to the NBA. He will make it."

This is from a recruiting article about Dingle:

On Friday evening LI-Lightning’s 6-foot-6 forward Daniel Dingle of St. Raymond’s HS in the Bronx updated NBE on the latest with his recruitment.
“Boston College, FSU, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Georgetown, Rutgers, Arizona, Xavier, Temple, Auburn, a lot of schools,” Dingle told Matt Whitfield when asked for the list of schools recruiting him.
The Class of 2012 is planning a trio of visits this month.
“Over my spring break I’ll take unofficals to Xavier, Arizona and Boston College,” he said.
Dingle also said that to this point Xavier, Arizona, Rutgers, Fordham, St. John’s and Cincinnati have offered scholarships.
