We're in the drivers seat.
I hope it doesn't come down to the St. Louis game and things are decided by then.

Yup, the UD game is huge for purposes of getting that one seed. I don't see Temple losing another game. They are red hot, at the moment.

Yes, the Dayton game is a must win for any shot at having the 5-Peat ceremony at the conclusion of the Charlotte game. As it is, Temple has 2 losses to our 1. Which is nice. We need to finish the Charlotte game with only 1 loss, because then even if we lose at SLU (Heaven forbid) we still tie for the regular season title. I'd rather own it outright of course.
We also have the tie breaker over Temple as far as A10 Seeding goes. Which is nice, also.
We lose at Dayton, then both of us could have 13-2 records going into the final regular season game. Which is bad.
Coach Mack was absolutely right - Saturday night wasn't about playing some garbage team, it was about the Higher Gifts - the A10- crown outright.
Every game matters. The most important game of the season is always the one you are currently playing.

Those ceramonies are stupid anyways, especially when it's not even the last game of the season. Will always remember watching the team celebrate like they won the national title two years ago and then go out and lay an egg at Richmond. I think our chances of winning at SLU actually go way up if we lose to Dayton. If we already have the league wrapped up going in to SLU I'll be very nervous. If we need to win the game to ensure the A 10 title I'll be pretty confident. Hope we go out and just win both though

It's amazing considering they have been hit with some University of Dayton type injuries.

Actually, the Temple injuries are legit...nothing like Dayton's illness and built in excuses.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of those ceremonies, either. But the players and students who get to come onto the floor seem to enjoy them, so I won't argue.

Jeezuz, Killjoys. Allow the guys to have a little bit of celebratory love from the fans and to strut a little bit.
After all the anonymous hours of working in the weight room, all the shots taken alone in a gym, after all the intense practices and after all the tough games. give them an opportunity to show off a bit. Just like a baseball team that goes through a hard schedule to win a Division championship celebrates, these guys should be able to do it too.
Just like in baseball, it doesn't mean that the season's work is done, but it is a high watermark that is well earned- especially in 2011.

Yes, because Tu Holloway, Mark Lyons and Jamel McLean just toil away in quiet anonymity while someone else wins games and the adoration of the fanbase on their sweat, with no one ever knowing these poor players' TRUE identities.
But I see what you're saying. The players enjoy it, as do the fans, so why end it?

Richmond, GW, UMass and URI all winning really puts the heat on ud to win Sunday. Duquesne losing makes the top spot race come down to X and Temple.
Good night for Xavier and a tough night for ud fans who want to move up in the standings.

Why? Dayton's chances of getting a top 4 spot increased from very slim to just slim. Only shot they have is a several team tie at 10-6 or simply a tie with Duquesne at 10-6.

Not quite how to respond to this. Other than maybe that Gregory has succeeded in totally lowering ud fans' expectations.
