Duquesne stumbles at Dayton and is almost certainly off the bubble now, without any notable OOC wins and top wins only at home against Temple and Dayton.

On the other hand, Richmond gets crushed at Temple, losing its last shot at a big regular season win to backup their earlier Purdue win. It's squarely on the bubble, coming into the game with an RPI of 68 that will only fall -- and without any opportunities to improve it until the conference tourney. 25-26 wins would be a lot, but with their SOS I'm not sure it would help. I think they're going to need to win out and at least advance to the finals of the conference tourney. That's a 7-game streak. Even with their upcoming competition, I'm not sure I see that happening.

We're getting dangerously close to a 2-Bid league, in a down season for the Big 6. That would be very disappointing, as it would be a significant missed opportunity for the conference.

Yes at this point it is a 2 bid league but say Richmond and Dayton win out and one of them wins the A-10 tourney then the league could get 4. I think Dayton has a real shot at an at large bid regardless if they win the A-10 tourney or not. They have 6 top 100 wins, only 1 bad loss at UMASS and if they beat Xavier they will have 2 top 25 RPI wins. They could finish the regular season 22-9 with 7 top 100 wins and only 1 bad loss.

i think for a minute there you forgot you were talking about dayton...they don't make the tournament or win big games...

I think it shows just how down the A-10 really is this year. I think at most it will be a 3 bid league but would not surprise me at all to see just 2 in. Dayton has to win the A-10, they will not get an at large.

X and Temple are locks. Richmond is on the outside looking in right now, but they could get back in if they can win out and get to the A10 finals. Duquesne is done unless they win the A10 Tourney.

If Dayton gets an at large...

1) Softest Bubble Ever
2) 68 Teams was a mistake

Who cares how many teams get in, everyone in the A 10 loses in the first round except us anyways

I think we end up with three. I don't expect Richmond to lose again in the regular season, and they'll manage to sneak into one of those at-large play-in games in Dayton.

Agreed. Richmond is still in the mix, just outside the tournament at the moment. If they win out the regular season, make the A10 Tourney, and beat either us or Temple in the process they would be in very good shape. Anything less than that and their chances will be highly dependent on what other teams do.

I agree. But given the way the A-10 Tourney seedings will play out, to beat us or Temple in the tourney they will have to advance to the finals of the A-10 tourney.

I know your a big Butler fan (I think last year you admitted you were a bigger Butler fan than Xavier).

Do you think they'll sneak in?

You're definitely thinking of someone else. I do like Butler from afar, but there is no team that I like remotely as much as my Muskies. (The closest 2nd would be Syracuse, mostly because I grew up near there, went to their basketball and soccer camps, and therefore was indoctrinated at an early age).

But I'll take the bait nevertheless. Yes, I think they'll squeak in. No, I don't think they deserve to.

ha, I'm sorry.

I think last year you took a very reasonable position on Butler and my hatred of them caused me to accuse you of being a diehard Butler fan.

That goes back a while. My post was like an inside joke with myself.

Juan's brother Otto Bid may be a factor.
