Do you realize that Temple's 3 home and home partners this year are LaSuck, St. Joes and F-m. Seriously.

WTF? I thought that they were trying to balance out the competition. No way with those 6 games. Nothing like trying to give them a conference championship. They can basically walk through ther rest of their schedule after tonight against Richmond.

Shouldn't F-m have LaSuck, GW and St. Joes as their partners?

After tonight, with Temple blowing out Richmond by 25, Xavier will have to win out to have an undisputed championship.

Temple's down the stretch schedule is a pastry cart.

I thought they tried to re-weigh these games every year too? I can't remember that far back, but Temple was supposed to be a good team again this year weren't they?

Temple and X the two bell cows in this conference should never have to play Fordham or LaSalle twice a season. It sucks we have to play Fordham once as it is.

Dont we have a tiebreaker? Not that I think we need it, but we have it, right?

in the grand scheme of things, i think it's better to play the tougher teams. even if temple finishes first, their overall profile won't be as good when it comes to the selections and seedings. i see why they'd play saint' joe's and/or temple every year. xavier plays dayton every year. those series may be protected like our series with dayton is.

Well, at least one of the home-and-home partners is a "local rivalry". That's why XU gets UD twice every year. So that applies to at least one of La Salle or St. Joe's. I'm not sure if there's two of them, because XU has had SLU home-and-home the past couple years too. Probably, to cut down on travel costs.

The real message is that the A-10 needs to make Philly teams get better to compete with the at least decent teams the midwest puts out.

On the bright side, Fordham is bringing a solid 0-11 A-10 record to the Cintas Center Saturday night.

I'm just glad our RPI stays below 100 after we play Fordham.

I have no idea how we got Fordham twice. The other two are local rivalries, that makes sense.

I would like to see a home and home with X every year. Not sure if you guys would like that. It's clear that these are the two teams in the conference in the past couple of years. Why not play 2 games?

I'm with you, man. No reason we don't play twice every year, as it would benefit both of us.

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference in RPI damage between a loss at Temple vs a home win vs Fordham?

We already have to play 5 MAC teams. The least the league could do for us is not set us up with 3 of the worst teams in our own league for the home/home.

Temple/Xavier is great for the conference. It's great for the programs. It could be a better rivalry than you have with that consistently underachieving team you guys love to fight with.

I don't know how Xavier recruits the way they do, but maybe this series could help our end a little bit.

I agree. That is a marquee matchup.

The only problem is that with XU and Temple beating each other up, it gives interlopers like Dook-cane a chance to steal a title.

reps to you sir for both the suggestion of a home and home between our schools as well as for the dig at UD. You, sir, are okay in my book.

I agree, let Temple play those teams. Arent we always complaining when we have to play Fordham twice? Six games for Temple between those 3 schools is an RPI killer.

Temple's schedule handed them losses at Duquense and Xavier. Seems to have worked out fine for Xavier. Like Walter Sobchak said, what exactly is the problem?

Each team is allowed to put in requests to the A-10 office as to who they want to play twice. The office will "Consider it" but they have the final say as to who the team plays. Xavier every year requests to play Dayton twice and Dayton does the same with Xavier. Temple requested LaSalle and St. Joes b/c of the Big 5 affiliation. Fordham was most likely assigned to them. LaSalle every year requests St. Joe's and Temple and St. Joe's requests LaSalle and Temple. As someone earlier stated they all do that b/c of local rivalries.

Temple's schedule to close out the year isn't very tough, but not sure it is much easier than X's. Counting Weds night, the last 6 games of the year are against teams in the bottom half of the conference and 5 against the bottom 5 of the league.

X's home and home's are 6-6, 3-9, & 2-9.

Anti-Xavier conspiracy. QED. If you deny it, that's probably because you're in on it.
