It's a really favorable spot I think. We're in as a#2, in the Dayton bracket. It would go Liberty, then Texas, then Michigan State, then Duke.
One can only hope!!!

That looks to be about as good a spot as they could get on that bracket, especially location wise, and after last yrs cross country trek. Louisville just might concern me a tad more than Texas, albeit I must admit I dont know that much about TX. Cards seem to be a really good young team that is getting better as the season progresses . Although the final score doesn't reflect it, they gave XU fits in Dec. and just knocked off #19 WVA yesterday. Plus, you would have the revenge factor in play for them. Personally, I'd rather see a "new face." Will no doubt be interesting to see how it plays out.

Charlie Creme came through with an update.

Whole different story.
XU as a 2, but with matchups vs Navy, then Iowa State or Purdue, and travel to Spokane for Miami or WVA to get at Stanford in the round of 8.

UGH!! I'm definitely pulling for somthing closer to Palms version. Especially the across the country trek again, that would stink. Purdue, tho, would obviously be interesting.

Duke lost to Maryland last night - their chance of getting a 1 seed is on life support. For Xavier to be as close to Dayton as possible, they'll have to leapfrog teams like Duke, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and DePaul on the Selection Committee's S-Curve.
Baylor, UConn, Stanford and Tennessee appear to be mortal locks for 1 seeds at this point. Xavier's remaining tests will come against Duquesne, Temple and the A-10 Tournament.

Just posted today. XU, still a #2, would play #15 McNeese St. Winner gets WVA or TTech. Still in Spokane Region if they are fortunate enough to advance. Hopefully he is incorrect, at least as to their region. That would make two yrs in a row on the left coast and 3 counting the 1st round in Seattle the year prior.

I suppose the only shot we've got of moving up would be for texas tech to lose a game or two from here out, as well as Duke picking up another loss, if that were to happen and we win out then perhaps being the top #2 seed might place X in a more favorable site after the 2nd round.
At least we have one more regular season game, and one or 2 in the conf tourney against top 50 rpi teams to beef up the resume'.
As much a blowout as the Duquesne game was, it's a good win.

If you saw Charlie Creme's article last week, Xavier just has to finish above Texas A&M in order to get a preferential seed. The Aggies can't go to Dallas since Baylor is already a shoo-in to be the 1 seed in that region. Dayton is closer to College Station than Spokane is, hence their placement up there. If Xavier gets priority on the S-Curve, then they go to Dayton and A&M is forced to go to Spokane.
UCLA is likely out of the discussion for a 2 seed after losing to Stanford yesterday (unless they win the Pac-10 Tournament). Other teams competing for a 2 are A&M, Duke, Notre Dame, DePaul, and maybe the 2nd place team in the ACC.
