And most importantly their head coach looks remarkably like their mascot:

Who also happens to look remarkably like The Penguin:

We'd better be prepared for this chicanery come Sunday if we want to win...

Also, they are #3 in A/FGM.

Probably just me but I tend to think the RPI and SOS are a little telling.

At the same time they are 8-1 in A10 play.

Duquesne doesn't really impress me at the moment. Yes, of course they are a good team. But Holloway and Lyons taking the game over is very likely. You can't show me a freshman in this country who is capable of stopping Tu on his own. When he needs help on the perimeter, cue Lyons.

Good feeling about Sunday.

They are a formidable opponent. RPI/SOS do not have much -- if any -- predictive value. Both Sagarin and Pomeroy LOVE the Dukes, primarily because they have demolished everyone they've beaten and played some very good teams tough.

I'm going to be very interested to see the line on this.

They definitely have a favorable schedule to begin the conf season. Three of the top four RPI teams play AT Duquesne. Later they will have a return trip to Dayton and play their last game at Richmond.

Another somewhat related fact: Duquesne single handedly murdered the sale of Snuggies in the Norwood area.

I think the Dukes are going to give us all we can handle on the road. They score a ton of points usually, and we need to stop that while putting up the numbers ourselves. They love to play a fast paced game so it should be exciting to watch. I fear that they match up well with us.

They need a signature win in the worse way. They've squandered all previous opportunities, so expect them to be focused in the extreme.

edit: On 2nd thought, they did beat Temple. Which is nice.

I worry because we always seem to struggle with them on the road. I'm grateful that we are playing at a neutral site this time, but I would feel a whole lot better if the game was here.

This game feels a little different, though. We were kind of stunned the last two times in Pittsburgh, especially when a red hot Xavier team (8-0 conference) got de-pantsed in the opening minutes two years ago. That was unexpected.

This Xavier team knows how dangerous Duquesne is, so I don't foresee us falling behind so quickly. Also, this one's not at Palumbo.
