West Virginia reserve forward Dan Jennings, who dressed for Sunday's game against South Florida but didn't play, walked away from the bench in the second half.

Huggins:

"Because he didn't play anyways and hasn't played. The truth of the matter is that he's been a nonentity. We started him to try and get some other guys motivated and he did work hard in practice for a while, but look at his career stats."

Can't imagine Chris Mack saying that about Johnny Mazza, let alone a player that he had started during the season. Then again, I can't imagine a Xavier player ever leaving the team in the middle of a game. WVU is a loser on both sides of this.

I'm pretty sure we recruited this kid. I remember that he was a real wide body, and he's shown as 6'8" 260 lbs.

Good choice going with St. Bob.

So without taking the time to read the article - when you say "walked away from the bench" do you mean for that game, or did he give up and walk off the team in the middle of a game?

Either way doesn't help when Coach You Know Who basically says, in public, good riddance, he never did anything anway. Sure, I started him once as a stunt to give another player a motivational kick in the butt.

While he may not have any stats to speak of due to a severe lack of playing time, it is just wrong for a coach to call somebody out as worthless. Sounds a bit better when "I had a talk with him about our program and his goals and we mutually decided it was best if we parted ways" Then again, as long as there weren't any other walk ons beating down Huggins door for a roster spot, there woulnd't be any harm in carrying him around as dead wood for another month. Sounds like the issue resovled itself it the walk on walked off. Would have been classier for both sides to have gone through the motions of sitting on the bench the rest of the season. At least wait for the end of the game, for your own pride's sake. Unless Coach was making life unplesant for him behidn the scenes to force this reaction, which we have no evidence of.

Though let's not be all hard on Huggins - I do have to recall the image of him truly being a comforter when his player went down last year.

Coasterville, that was HIlarious. Wasn't it Joe Mazzulo, or however you spell it. That kid also got caught pissing in public. Weird shit goes down in WV.

Please, give it up with the self serving camera time reclamation of Bob Huggins' integrity. Bob Huggins Has No Integrity.

I call a personal foul on this post.

Cool, I still get 3 personal fouls in the next 40 minutes of posting time before fouling out!

But do you honestly think, with a kid lying on the court in agony, that Bob took the time to go through the thought tree of "What reaction will best beenfit my image and career?"

Good point. Do I think that slimey Bob Huggins would use a nationally televised injury to advance his own personal rehabilitation?

On thinking about it, the answer is yes. Yes he would.

Is that your final answer?

That is my final answer.

BOB HUGGINS HAS NO INTEGRITY

It was Da'Sean Butler who blew out his knee in the Final Four and was comforted by Huggins. He had basically been Huggins lunchpail meal ticket for four years.

If I had to guess, Huggins is a big "What have you done for me lately" guy.

I seem to recall Erik Martin ripping off his jersey and storming off the bench with Chuggs hot on his heels for one of those completely loathsome late-90s UC teams. I believe Martin was suspended for a full 20 seconds as a result.

Unless there was an injury or personal emergency that we don't know about, Jennings is an idiot for putting himself in that position. What did you expect Chuggy Bear to do, go Father Flanigan on him? Not happening.

I'd be just as pissed if I were his teammate and he pulled a stunt like that.

Oh, sure, Jennings sucks for what he did. But so does Huggins for his comments.

There's "We're moving on without him" and then there's "We're moving on without him, that worthless piece of *($#@".

Trust me, if the kid could help that team at all, BeelzeBob would have him back out there. Since the kid is not that good, Huggins could care less. It's really that simple.

Bingo! We have a winner!

Huggins is a big pile of sh#t. I saw him on ESPN the other day wearing another warm-up suit. They are are going to have to make one in 4XL for him pretty soon.

oxymoron: two contradictory terms. Examples are: Bob Huggins, class, and/or dignity in the same sentence. See also UC as a relevant basketball/football school.
