Pending the result between Dayton and Richmond, Xavier will do no worse than a tie with Richmond for 1st place with a 5-0 record in league play.

Duquesne rebounded from their home loss to Richmond with a win at La Salle today. GW is now officially dead after losing to FORDHAM on the road today. There's a good chance that the OG women's A-10 flagship won't even qualify for the A-10 Tournament up in Lowell, MA this season.

Wow, just wow! That's too bad. Look at how strong the A-10 is right now, and just think if GW was even half ass. that's a shame

Oh they're awful. My first year I lived here (Joe McKeown's last year) I went to most of their games just because they were a good team to watch. They were really bad Bozeman's first year — with both Adair sisters, no less — and have gotten worse every year since. His on-court demeanor isn't really very good either. It's a shame how far they've fallen. Also, given what McKeown is doing at traditionally awful Northwestern, most of the credit for GW's success of the past is owed directly to him.

Great road win today! Charlotte is certainly not an easy team to play, especially there. When Katie hit those 2 three's, the offense was really kicked into high gear. 50 points in the 2nd half. Moss had a very good 2nd half after a slow start. Amber and Ta'Shia were excellent, as usual.

I agree that McKeown pretty much was the GW program. I know there have been a lot of injuries, but that kind of decline is unacceptable. Bozeman needs to go.

Homer, you'll remember their best years. I still say the 4 OT game GW vs XU at Cintas back when Booth, Amy and Reeta were playing was the best game, any basketball game, I've ever seen.
Remember, those 3 played in all 60 minutes that day!

I can remember star GW players going back to Noelia Gomez in the late 90s, Cathy Joens, Anna Montanana, Kimberly Beck, the Adair twin towers; I could go on.

Looking at the GW boards, injuries have taken their toll the past couple of seasons, but you would think a halfway decent coach would do no worse than 9th or 10th in this league with a depleted roster. I understand them not being able to compete with X, Temple, Dayton, and Duquesne. I don't understand what business they have losing to teams like Fordham and the other dregs of the league.

GW really took a hit when Joe went to Northwestern. He is a great recruiter and GW has definitely went downhill since he left. He is now turning around Northwestern and I am happy for him. I have to agree the GW-X 4 OT game was the most memorable game for me also. Amy, Reetta and Tara playing all 60 minutes will live on in our hearts and minds for many years to come. Great years for X then and now too.

Impressive showing by your ladies last night. Amber Harris is an absolute beast.

I think the game was a bit more even than the score lets on. The thing that impressed me the most about your team is that they absolutely refused to give up a big run. Every time we would get something going, they would either hit a big shot or draw a key foul (my nice way of saying something was definitely off with the three stooges last night) and kill our momentum.

I was also impressed with your road crowd. I don't know if they were family, friends, or alumni that live in Charlotte... but they were very vocal. Didn't really expect that.

As always, you guys brought in classy fans and a classy team. Given what I've seen from your program, I was a bit surprised to see Coach Mcguff taunting the student section towards the end of the game. Not to say that we're completely innocent in the matter (cough cough).

As much as I dislike the majority of the A10, you guys are one program that I truly enjoy playing... and that held true tonight once again. I'm looking forward to Feb. 2nd.

Always nice to see your comments 49er. You've got a strong team there, lesser teams have absolutely folded under the constant barrage once X gets the inside and outside games clicking. The 49er ladies put up a good battle.
On Coach K-mac. Good to hear about his reaction to the fans. Having worked for him right from his arrival at Cintas I've witnesses his growth as both a coach and a person. Over the years he's held on to his ethics etc as a coach, grown into the role as the head of a top ten program, and now coming out of his sometimes stoic shell is nice to hear. He really has become a complete Coach in his tenure at X. He has really created a monster of a program we certainly hope he has found a home for good at X.
Best of luck to the 49ers, I know they'll be right in the mix in Lowell Mass at tourney time.

Thanks for checking in Niner.

To respond to one of your points, I remember McGuff doing something similar at Duquesne last year. There was some good-natured chants and taunts from the Duquesne students during that game - McGuff had a few friendly barbs for them as the team walked off the floor last season.

I'm sure he'd do the same thing if Dayton and Temple fans try to heckle the team when they hit the road later on.

Every time I looked at him on the sidelines, all I could think of was this commercial:
