1. Only 6 players play the whole game? Really? You've gotta have faith in your bench or this team is going nowhere this year. Holmes and Wanninger both should be getting a lot more playing time based on what I have seen. I know the game was close throughout, but you still have to play the bench. Just bringing in Rutan won't cut it. Is coach trying to make some kind of point????

2. Why is Moss getting so much playing time? She really isn't doing anything except miss shot after shot after shot after shot. It's been that way for the last 10 games or so. The lack of production here is killing this offense. I'm starting to wonder why opponents even bother to defend our guards as the team is now shooting 29% from three. It's well past time for a change.

I agree with you. I thought Wanninger looked good in the USC game and she is an excellent three point shooter. I don't know how much she should be playing, but, when the rest of the guards including Rutan can't hit the side of the barn with their shots why not see if you can find a hot hand with Wanninger. Poor three point shooting is making it very difficult to utilize the big girls inside in the offense. Hopefully Rutan gets her stroke back soon.

Not to point him out like this, but I was wondering if Mcguff has Parkinson's?

I noticed the same thing yesterday. I hope not.

Maybe it's defense - I'm not sure why only Rutan came off the bench yesterday.

I doubt you'll see only 6 players go for Wednesday's game at St. Joe's.

wow,,,, nice to hear such supportive comments. remember, this teams is 12-2, top ten in both polls as well as rpi with a top 20 strength of schedule. I think this team is in just the right spot for this point in the season.

Mossy. as a 2 guard, her 8.7ppg, 53 assists to 32 turnovers and 19 steals, and she's pulling down 4.4 boards per, not bad numbers just 13 games into the season. Her shooting percentages are just a bit behind Special across the board. There have been a number of games that she was a key player, all but responsible for the win. Her existence as a driving threat to the lane forces defenses to stay honest with our bigs.
we all know Rutan can shoot the rock from the arc with epic accuracy, but she's still on the comeback from the ankle, and her speed on D is behind what Mossy and Askew at a 2 or 3 spot can offer.

I've been listening to this crap for years now. At some point yall have to let the crime dog just coach, check the numbers folks he's the best coach this program has ever had, no one even close. He's able to recruit, has been since he walked on campus, and he's got the wins and winning percentage to make 99.9% of programs in the country jealous. If you've been watching over the years, he has never really gone deep into his bench. he did some of that in the early part of the season, and I trust that what he saw from that period has brought him to where he is right now. Not saying that those subs, wanninger, holmes and the rest aren't good enough to hit the floor, just saying I didn't think yesterday was that time. He had the chance to teach the front line, those 6 players, that they have to be physically ready to go 35 minutes each and every game, I would suspect that the scare they got in the middle 20 minutes will go a long way towards driving that point home.

on the other hand, take a look at the Dayton team yesterday, pretty much couldn't hit the floor with the ball twice in a row for the first 10 minutes, then got hot and made a very competitive game of it, but then what? Lost focus, let X back in the game, and ran possibly the worst defense and time managed of a final 30 seconds on the clock I could imagine. This was a team picked to compete at the top of the A-10, now where are they? 9-6 and just hanging on in the top 50 rpi. Losses to UIC and San Diego State???? that's pitiful

I think the next couple of years after Harris and Phillips leave will be a good indicator of how good a recruiter he is. He should have some pretty good players sitting on the bench ready to take over and I don't think he does. If he has talent on the bench he certainly isn't showing any confidence in them.

Really....Not to point him out but you did.... is this really the place to point out your possible concern about a medical problem or are you just looking for something else to complain about.

Seems to me win or lose some fans are never happy with the outcome.

I agree with XU-PA look at what he has done...

I'm not sure I have ever posted before but I think it is ridiculous to post any medical concern you might have about the coach... I work in the medical field and don't see any signs of Parkinson's disease and if I did I certainly wouldn't post it on a basketball forum!

I obviously don't have the hang of this...this is the original quote I was trying to include in my first attempt at posting..

I didn't want anyone to think it was my original quote as I would never bring medical concerns to this forum!

Im pretty sure it is just a nervous tick. He has been doing that head nod thing for at least the last 5 years (That is when I first noticed it). If you talk to/see him outside of basketball it never comes up, but as soon as he is coaching it shows up.

PA, you'll love this stat: Xavier is one of only 3 teams in the country with 6 wins against the RPI's top 50. The others --- UConn (6 wins) and Tennessee (8 wins). That's some nice company there.

I guess the good news is that the offense hasn't been great and the team is still 12-2 with an RPI of 7. I also have to imagine that the 3 point shooting will not continue to be this poor, and that a major correction is coming. It could be worse -- we could be Ohio State.

I am really worried about Moss though. We desperately need production from the 2 to keep teams from collapsing on Ta'Shia -- which they have been doing a lot lately. I am hoping she can turn it around.

Oh and we should not be discussing people's medical conditions here either.
