I moved here yesterday. I already know there's nothing to do here, so I'll hold off on asking for suggestions.

Lol maybe catch a WSU game (they play Drake at home tomorrow according to their website)? I know a good number of people from Wichita here at KU and even they don't have many great things to say about the place.

Pizza Hut was started in Wichita, they got that going for them I guess.

They didn't hang around here too long, though.

I bet Wichita has cheap housing, which is a really good thing. While there might not be much to do, just think about how your standard of living is higher than a lot of residents in San Francisco.

The Scotch and Sirloin has outstanding steaks and atmosphere. The talent there is strong as well, at least it used to be. Go hungry!

From Boston? Why?

Got an in-house gig where the pay cut was small, my commute will go from an hour each way to 5-10 minutes, and I will buy a house that is twice the size of my house in Braintree, is 70 years younger and costs less. Plus, with three small kids pretty much all of the benefits of living in Boston (bars, restaurants, pro sports, theater) are things that I do not have the opportunity to take advantage of very often. The only real downer is that there's no Fordham, URI or UMass nearby so that I can get my Xavier fix at least once a year. SLU is a solid five hour drive from here.

You can adopt the Wheat Shockers as your secondary team and see some decent MVC basketball.

The only thing to do in Wichita is eat at Nu-Way. Go to Nu-Way for a sandwich and then Brahm's for ice cream. That's really all there is.

If you want a small town experience, drive about 20 miles W/NW to Andale and eat at Brunin's Cafe or the burger shack.

There are some really pretty German-inspired Catholic churches in the towns surrounding Wichita.

The only other thing to do is learn to hunt, and then go kill doves, pheasant, and deer.

Denver is only 500 miles away.

Personally, I'd suffocate there. But best of luck to you!

I can't find it on Youtube (i'll be honest I didn't try very hard) but Sinbad had a great comedy routine about Wichita Kansas.

It will be good for your kids to live in Red State America.

What was that Gallagher line?

Nobody ever got in a covered wagon and set out for Kansas. They were going to California or Oregon and broke down on the way, and they were either too lazy or too stupid to fix their wagon.

Glad to hear you've got a nice in-house job and that you don't have to be a lineman for the county. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qoymGCDYzU)
