Speaking of your tournament resume how about Butler gettting the corn knocked out of their crap tonight in a complete laugher to 138 RPI rated University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

76-52! A 24 freaking pt loss to a team they were favored to beat by more than 10.

And that is Butlers second "bad loss" of the season, the other being Evansville at rpi 157.

Too funny.

Rhode Island is in "we give up" mode to Florida down 56-34. Rhode Island offered no resistance at all.

The A-10 sucks. Again.

The better part of the schedule certainly begins on the 9th, I will agree.

Didn't you guys lose to a D2 team towards the beginning of the year?

Anyway, no offense, I mean your superbowl is coming around again and I don't want to spoil your wind-up to it.

This is my favorite typical UC fan line. I'm glad you used it. The team that goes to the second weekend of the tournament every year views the Shootout as the "Super Bowl," while the team that perennially sucks donkey balls doesn't care. Alright. I think we all wish the Shootout felt as much like a Super Bowl as it used to, but honestly it's starting to feel more like dayton week. You guys need this more than us. After all, we play in the A10...

Yeah I hear what you are saying, except that it is, and you know it.

Hey why do I keep seeing "Tu" Holloway at UC games? I mean I look over at one game and there he is and then it happens again. Its pretty weird but I support his right to do it.

Let him know he can PM me if he is jonesing to see the team again. I will give him a couple of my tickets and he can watch a real live Big East game. Might be exciting for him and I would be happy to oblige.

EJ cracks me up. He can't explain how X has outdrawn UC by tens of thousands, can't explain how he hasn't been around for over 2 years, can't explain how the Cronin bashers disappeared, can't explain the SOS for UC this year, can't explain the weak OOC schedule this year, can't explain....everything for his team.

UC would need 4 straight sellouts to even come even with Xavier, and that doesn't even account for Xavier selling out, or coming close.

Why is Tu at the UC games? Why are you on a Xavier site? Same thing, the more basketball you watch, or learn, the better you are. Good God man.

What a joke of a fanbase. Joke.

Haha. I hope Tu does go to UC games because I also support his right to go watch the sport he likes. He can get in for $5 and sit wherever he wants. Maybe he can have a beer and make Mick Cronin jokes to the guy next to him. And all the while watching the mighty Bearcats try to hang with Big East foes like Seton Hall and Providence, or better yet, one of their little out of conference directional schools they battle. Sounds like a nice little Wednesday night to me.

The attendance until the last couple games was absolutely disgusting and had me throwing some pretty vicious barbs at UC "fans" on two different message boards. So if you are looking for disagreement with me on that point you aren't going to get it.

The schedule was also too soft, Oklahoma and and to a lesser extent Dayton were supposed to counterbalance it slightly and ironically it turned out to be Dayton (who I hear are still suffering post traumatic stress disorder symptoms from the beating they took) that is holding up best as a quality win. Go figure.

Which will only improve the chances that UC will get schooled when they actually play real teams. It's a joke of a schedule and shows they cannot be taken seriously until they play actual competition. UC is once again over-hyped, overrated, and destined to fail. Is say they are destined to disappoint, but does anyone actually have high hopes for this shell of what once was a decent program?

It's crazy to think that no player on UC knows what it's like to beat Xavier. Wow.

It's funny though that EJ shows up just before the Shootout, but never to be heard from again until the following season's game. He's often strangely silent in between. Being a realistic Xavier fan, though, I'm sure he'll be a regular come Friday morning.

Naturally playing excellent teams increases the likelihood of losses. St. Johns is dangerous and we play them twice this year. There is no denying that the schedule beginning Jan 9th is BRUTAL.

The team has pounded every team that they were SUPPOSED to pound. I don't think any UC fan would point to this as an accomplishment worthy of a trophy and plaque. However it is far better than your situation where you have struggled against the even the worst teams on your schedule, dropped games to a couple of bad teams and been beaten by the good ones.

I guess I would have liked UC to be more "tested" coming into this part of the schedule, but I am not sure I would want to have seen them get themselves into tough situations or even take losses against teams they have no reason struggling against. I believe that you learn in situations of adversity, but I don't know how much a team learns when they create the adversarial situation by playing poorly and going down to the wire against inferior teams. That is really where UC has been the last few years and it's where XU is now.

You know, the band Journey gets together every couple of years and goes out on tour. They play their songs that were huge in the 80's and still have a small following, but they've done nothing new for a while. Their lead singer is gone, their lead guitarist, though very good, is likely a shell of his former self and they're just a bunch of aging pseudo-rockers who currently reside in the "Where are they now" files. Oh, they had some big hits and are a staple on the oldies station - I even have a couple of their songs in my iTunes library, but even at their apex were not a true rock band - more of a "rock-lite" for people who preferred a little falsetto with their guitar riffs.

I bring this up because our old pal Eastside J has returned and I can't help of think of the band Journey when I see his moniker next to a post I feel is right out of 1998. Kind of clever back in the day, but now just kind of sad. But that wheel in the sky keeps on turning.

Wow, we haven't heard from Jay in about 1.5 years but he suddenly reappears for the Shootout when UC is favored. Once a chicken$hit always a chicken$hit.

For old times sake, could you please again explain your theory that the reason West finished third in the nation in rebounding was due to his "soft defense"?

And how about the time you argued that Drew Lavender wasn't a point guard but was a shooting guard?

How about the time when you said the reason Huggins recruited all those thugs was because "he wants to give these kids a helping hand"?

Oh the memories.

Wasn't he also forming a secret lynch mob to get Nancy Z fired? How'd that work out? She used UC like a 2 dollar whore.

Please reference December 7th and December 11th on St. John's schedule.

Butler, for the record doesn't have a bad of a loss as the dangerous Red Storm.

This is why I hate conference arguments. You can't have it both ways. St. John's lost to two common A-10 bottom feeders this season. But the A-10 sucks. Again. And believe me it does suck. But Xavier doesn't suck in it. It goes to Elite Eights and at worst Sweet Sixteens. And has players drafted in the first round of the NBA draft.

But St. John's is dangerous. Why? Because Austin Freeman and Chris "The Real" Wright couldn't hit water one night.

I mean we've beaten BE schools. Good ones, bad ones, schools named UC. Who cares? Butler went to the Championship game playing in a directional school conference, but I'm supposed to be impressed that you are in the BE? In that time you've beaten GTown once. Congrats. Get yourself a backpack.

Good luck tomorrow night. You've got the weakest Xavier team in about a decade coming in. I know it's our Super Bowl and for the 14 fans that seem to show up to your games it's no big deal.

Unless of course you got another Connor Barwin at your school. Man talk about an emasculated dork. They would kick our ass in football if we had a football team? Wow good one Connie. Did you get that at the awesome diss store? Right after you bought yourself the tightest t-shirt at baby gap?
