SLU will know fate of Mitchell and Reed on Friday

Willie Reed Sr. was on local St. Louis radio and stated both would be reinstated. Also hinted both may redshirt.

They both left school (expelled) with the opportunity to re-enroll before the the next semester if they met certain conditions. Reed briefly flirted with transferring (K-State was the hot rumor) but decided to attempt a return to SLU.

Redshirting would be the best option for both. This is a wasted year for them and the program. The best they could hope for is a miracle run to the NCAAs through the A10 tourney. If they redshirt they come back fresh next year with 2 years left, and SLU would be set to contend in the A10 both seasons. Not to mention their pro potential would be really hurt if they lose a year of playing.

Thanks Adam. It's sorta weird that they would redshirt. But I guess you need to make the best of a bad situation.
