Still stuck in the low 40's
Palm has us at 42, but right behind James Madison and Western Kentucky so there's alot of room to jump ahead quick.
Key will be the next two games, to get into the "safely in" category have to get wins over Dayton and Charlotte.
Palms latest bracket (sunday) has us off the "last in" list and we're at #10 playing DePaul in Baton Rouge for a shot at the Baylor Bears.
Tough part about this is that A-10 is still just a 2 team in conference, and they are rated at #10 overall. Sad that the rest of the gang can't pick it up.
All in all you have to like the way Coach has adjusted the game over the past few. He's taken the game inside, limited the outside shot (only 21 3's attempted in 3 games), and played strong in the paint basketball, while forcing his opponents to turnover the ball.

Okay, it's time to go on a rant.
And why is this league ranked #10? Glance at the bottom of the standings and you'll find your answer. Fordham. They are now 0-24 and ranked #329 in the RPI. They are killing this league and bringing everyone down with them. Our RPI is going to take a major hit when we play them. We might drop towards #50 or worse. If Fordham doesn't beat LaSalle on Saturday, there is good chance that they will finish the season with 0 wins. That's inexcusable.
Unfortunately, I think X will be on the bubble on Selection Monday regardless of how the team finishes. We may now have to run the table to get a bid, which will be difficult but not impossible. The biggest obstacle in our way is @ UD on Thursday night. Get past that one and there's a good chance it will happen.
As a side note, Penn State and Georgia are not helping us. Penn St has totally collapsed and is no longer a good win, and Georgia is having one of their worst SEC seasons in recent memory. Boy I wish we'd have won the Kansas or UC game.

It's funny snow, that Penn State having tanked, losers of 5 in a row, can still be at RPI 54 (sos=20 being the key)
But our georgia and Kentucky wins are still good (though Georgia is destined to flop)
It's that UC loss that will haunt, the bearcats have won just 1 of their last 9 and face 4 opponents above 60 rpi over the next 2 1/2 weeks.
When you look at the A-10 you'd think it's in pretty good shape, with 5 teams in the top 75-rpi.
But then the rpi drops off the edge of the earth.
Our top teams are good, the rest is very very bad. too bad because it will hold us back on selection sunday, whether the ladies run the table or not, they will get dropped down a rung or two just because of the A-10.

I dont know a whole lot about the calculations, but that's one of my peeves about RPI. You get penalized for playing and defeating a team you HAVE to play(league). Plus, XU had 3 top 25 wins at the time they played those folks(psu, ga and ncst). Now, they falter and your RPI is adversly affected. How can great wins at the time suddenly turn sour. Makes no sense to me. Conversely, UK was a so-so win that is now suddenly a good one because they won a few games they werent expected to? I know in years past, XU was overlooked for teams with much higher(worse) RPI's so hopefully they can take care of their business and sell themselves. If they run the table, I think it would be impossible to keep them out despite what their RPI may end up being. 23-6 overall and 13-1 in the league should be plenty. Short of that, I just dont know.

I'm actually cheering for Fordham to run the table. MOR will have a field day if he gets another reason to call for their departure from the A-10.
It's a pity they won't qualify for the A-10 Tournament; the worst they can finish is 0-29. Could you imagine a team nowadays with a 30-loss season? That is incredible.

As long as we keep winning things will take care of themselves as far as the RPI goes. Lose one game and we've really got our backs to the wall.
Lose two games, and the A-10 is a one-bid league (GW).
