Ugly game on both sides, but not too shabby of a win for the A-10. And congrats to Alan Major.

No doubt this is a shock considering how bad Charlotte has been but Tennessee is very beatable. Their shooting is terrible so if you can stop them from getting to the rim you can get the W. TN is athletic and can play solid D so they end up winning games but I'm not impressed. Still a great W for Charlotte and should be an RPI boost for the conference.
Too bad LaSalle continues to underperform with another bad loss. Even though they are not the worst team in the A-10 I'm on board with those that want to dump them. They should be good this year and should have been better last year. They have had enough time and enough chances. Somebody show them the door.

I kind of thought the same thing about Tennessee, I thought their non-conference schedule was pretty weak and they were beating up on cupcakes to vault them into the top ten...but I just pulled up their results and they have good wins against Villanova and Pitt. Who knows, I don't care about them and I don't follow them, but none the less it's about time someone in the conference beat someone of note. Hopefully this is the turning point for the A-10. Let's get some dang wins starting with a W against Wake tomorrow.
God Bless Xavier and God Bless Skip Prosser.

ESPN headline says "Tennessee loses to 2nd mid major in 4 days"
It might have been better had Charlotte lost.
WTF happened to them and Stl?

Charlotte --- Coaching Change & the "Spears Effect."
St. Louis --- Losing your two best "returning" players to stupidity.

Yea, I said the same thing. ESPN can go suck one. Probably some intern who made that tagline, or a UT-Knoxville grad.

We have a habit of beating top 25 teams... you should know this all too well.
Crush Wake Forest, I know they suck this year, but any win against the ACC can only help with the conference's perception. I hate them.

You certainly don't have a habit of beating top 25 teams recently...You have a habit of underperforming and losing to bad teams.

Oh get the hell out of here. You're barely above the list of teams we want to leave the conference. Charlotte isn't exactly a media market that we need.

I wouldn't read too much into this. Tennessee under Bruce Pearl has always been a team that has played up (or down) to the competition/ name on the opponent jersey.

Right... because Xavier controls the A10 and the A10 will do anything you want. So, after you've removed Fordham, Lasalle, St Bonaventure, and Duquesne you can work on getting rid of us. That would be brilliant.
We are around top 5 in attendance for basketball, we've had good success in the past and are making the necessary changes to be successful in the future. Charlotte has been consistently at the top of the A10 in soccer, baseball, and other non basketball sports.
If you can't handle me reminding of you (in jest) of our win 2 years ago in Halton you've got other, much larger issues going on in your life.

Wither NCAA tournaments? That's right, you don't have any since you made the A-10. This includes several chokes, notably last year.
I seem to recall our soccer team went down to your place and smoked everyone (including UNCC) en route to the NCAA tourney.
Yeah you beat us two years ago. I was pissed, went out and had some Graeter's ice cream (bad habit) and moved on. We made the Sweet 16, again. Where was Charlotte?
You do have a nice airport down there, though.

The A10 was far from Charlotte's most desired conference to join, but since we are here, we just have to deal with it and adjust. I think new coach Alan Major and company have enough experience in the A10 to finally get us over that hump and return our program to the level we were used to playing in the late 90's. Waiting on the day we can finally silence the Xavier fans once and for all...

We are in no position to talk trash. We are pretty low on the totem pole right now, and beating a few top 25 teams, doesn't make up for that.
Xavier has been fantastic over the past two decades, matter of fact, has achieved more success than anyone in the conference, except for maybe Temple during the Cheney years.
Plus, we've only beaten Xavier once since we've been in the conference If I Recall Correctly.
It was very nice bright spot in what has been a crappy season so far, lets leave it at that.

I don't see whats wrong about telling him to go away when he brings up beating us. Honest to God its like this place has a nanny half the time. If he went and cried about what I said then I will send him a Christmas card. You should be able to go back at someone who brings up beating you.

Several things.
1) Go our soccer team.
2) Ice cream is delicious.
3) Went to CVG for the first time today and without ever being to Charlotte will assume Charlotte's is much nicer.

Charlotte has nice looking women. I say we invade them, kill the men and the young adult males and then return to Cincy will all of those nice looking women. I would do the same to Pittsburgh, but they don't have any nice looking women. You just have to liquidate all of them for the sake of the gene pool. At least we can harvest those fine southern women from Charlotte. It will take a few years to develop a compreshensive plan, so I think we should keep them in the league before we pounce. Don't worry about being tipped off either. They will think this is a sick joke. By the time we get down there they will never have seen this coming. We could take them. We should post some pics of some Charlotte hottiies on this thead so you guys can deal with the gravity of the situation.

Speak as you will, Cowboy... but until we're a top four team year in and year out in the A10, we really don't have much of a leg to stand on.
Snipe, any chance you could give me a decent warning befoure you set your plan into action? Sounds like a good reason to leave town...

You know, Tennessee reminds me of Dayton in that when you show them a zone, they fall to pieces.
Dayton I think finally made it over the hump when they played Seton Hall a day or two ago and Brian Gregory finally seemed to make the needed adjustments on offense. I wonder if Bruce Pearl will leave behind the play ground offense and do the same. I think Dayton first encountered it against UC that was in November and it took them a month, you'd think for all his props when things were going good, Bruce Pearl would take less than that amount of time. His son isn't very good either, kind of reminds me of the Patrick Knight situation at Indiana years ago. Except Patrick Knight was just nothing special, not a terrible detriment to his team.
