Maybe now they will go from awful to just bad.

This is a "public execution" by the new guy to show who's boss.

That will be a "Major" problem for Charlotte. It's too bad they suck again, just when you think Saint Louis and Charlotte are about to add something positive to this conference they fall into shambles again. I mean Fordham could beat both of those teams in the standings....Fordham!

If you're going to suck, if you're going to put your stamp on the team, if you're going to run the program your way, there's no better time to do it than in your first year as a coach.

All signs point to Spears not wanting to play for Major, and Major made that happen for him. To some extent, that's a failure on Major's part, but sometimes these things are unreconcilable.

Truth be known Coach Major advocated early & often to dismiss Dave Young & believed one of the bigger reasons that group only achieved as much as it did was Coach Matta's patience in similar circumstances.

Glad to see Coach Major learned a lesson.

I'm sorry this doesn't make sense to me.

Major wanted David Young off. Matta was patient until Young trnasferred and Major learned a lesson by kicking a guy of the team?

Maybe I'm not reading it correctly.

I had a tough time following the logic there too DC.
BTW, how was your date with Karen?

Spears got what was coming. he mouthed off in tweets about being on the verge of quitting and he damn near got in a fight with an coach. He played a selfish brand of ball, which fit in with Lutz. Major is changing the culture and wasn't going to be bushed around by a player (our most talented) that wasn't buying in. Rumor is that Spears almost got into a fight with a coach last year as well.

We're going to take our lumps this year, but Niner fans can see the difference in our offense when we work it properly. We're no longer a chuck n duck team, sad thing is, we just don't have enough guys that can hit shots. Green has been horrible to start they year.

I think the implication is that the team would have had more respect for Matta if he would have dismissed Young. That's a lot easier to say years later on a messageboard, than it is for a coach to put into practice with a team that should dance.

Major doesn't have a team that's gonna dance. Big difference.

I don't kiss and tell.

So that should tell you I didn't kiss her.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks!

Thanks Wags: I would add for clarity my point includes Coach Major learned the lesson to make such decisions early and forcefully so as not to derail the team, whether the team is headed for NCAA or not.

Sadly Charlotte couldn't spell NCAA right now if you gave us a bag of Scrabble tiles. We've been a massive disappointment since coming to the A10, and there is no one to blame bus ourselves.

If I am coaching a team and a player who has discipline goes on Twitter and acts like he is quitting the team I would have made the exact same decision.

Certainly doesn't give off the vibe of 'team player' but I don't know much about the guy.

Thank you. That's not all there was either. His behavior on the court was just as bad as it was off the court.
