Big slate of 9 games today starting with Saint Louis at Duke at 12:00 EST on CBS. With Irving out for Duke maybe SLU can avoid getting blown out.

Well X and ud have something in common tonight. ODU has now beaten both teams.

ODU is a really good team. They took every punch UD had and responded. I thought Dayton played its best 40 minutes of the season. Chris Johnson and Paul Williams were outstanding, and Wright and Staten were really good as well. ODU just made more plays, and won the game in the paint late. Great game.

They've beaten Clemson, Xavier, Richmond and Dayton, and lost to Georgetown at home by 3. Safe to say they'd be a top 3 team in our league. Should have no problem making the dance again.

I think even in a loss UD took a step forward today. I feel better looking forward after this loss than I do after wins over Savannah State and CCSU. Much like Xavier this season will be a work in progress.

A win against ODU at their place would've been a great win, and not a bad loss at all... Unlike the other 3 loses (so far) by the conference. Not looking good in the night games either.

Just checking the scoreboard and see that Fordham has cut St. John's lead down to 4 with 7:25 to go. Would be fantastic if Fordham could somehow win that game.

ODU beat Richmond earlier this year, too. They are really wiping the floor with the A10's "elite" this year.

Wow - both the Bonnies AND Fordham beat St. John's? No wonder they don't draw in MSG anymore.

In all seriousness, good win for Fordham. It's been a long time since they've had a noteworthy OOC win.

Let's see if we can bring some waggy mojo to the Hawks. Down 3 at Creighton. About 9 to go.

waggy mojo

Doesn't help the Hawks and they go down 82-75 to Creighton. Very crappy 2-7 for the A10 today.

My first look at the Hawks, and I was fairly impressed. Aiken will be a good player in a couple years, but he needs experience, and more importantly muscle. The Creighton senior big went for 30(+). Langston Galloway is a very nice looking player. Streetball style scorer. The backcourt is talented enough to cause problems.

I thought the gift of the day today was Seton Hall -2 @ UMASS. I was right...and that doesn't happen nearly often enough. 104-79? A10 has had a rough day.

Edit -- I just looked at the box score. SH had 7 double digit scorers...7!!

Maybe, just maybe, X is really better than I thought they were earlier. The first half with Butler showed something to me and now these games the teams we struggled with and either beat or lost to are playing and winning have showed me something as well....

Went to the game at Rose Hill tonight, best atmosphere since they beat us on a last second dunk 6 years ago. I think that was Whittenburg's first year.
Anywho that was a fantastic game, Fordham was down by 20 in the second half and after cutting it to 4 it went back to 11. Nice resiliance, the locals loved it, and loved giving my buddy, a SJU fan a not too serious "not in our house" after the game.

Judging based on their two losses to the Bonnies and the Rams, I would say no.

I would venture to guess there hasn't been an A-10 champ in the history of the league that has lost to both of those teams in the same season. Hell, I bet there hasn't been a 3rd place team that has ever lost to those 2 teams in the same season.

Granted this league blows donkeys this season, but I think it would have to be an upset to see a champion who started league play 0-2 against FU and BU.

Wow, things at UD have gotten so bad that close losses to mid majors are now considered moral victories. X fans were extremely disappointed in our loss to ODU. Well at least I was and I'm sure our coaches and players were as well.

Are you the same guy that said you weren't impressed with ODU on the A10 board? If so, well, you should probably open your eyes. ODU would be the best or second best team in the A10 if they were in the league.

I could sit here and be "that" guy, thinking everything is controllable by my team. They win because they're great and lose because they screwed up. That's simply not realistic, there are many ways to win and lose. Dayton lost because ODU is a better team. They're better than Xavier, too. There's no sense in getting worked up over a team being better than you.

There's no moral victory. I'm not happy because Dayton took ODU to the buzzer. I wouldn't be happy if Dayton took Duke to the buzzer and lost. I am encouraged by some things that I saw. Those are nowhere near the same thing.

The A-10 is currently 7th in conference RPI, behind the Mounain West and ahead of the PAC 10.
