I know I know wrong forum, but this gets more traffic so we can all tolerate it until the game is over and then move it to its proper location I think.
Our women are the #4 team in the country and we had less than 1500 people at the last game. It was against USC. Not like they were playing Middle Eastern Central Christian State Community College.
Our girls last year beat UC by a pretty wide margin and this year in theory should be equally as fun, and it is at UC. I know who wants to give them money..But still some of us should go. Its not like you are watching the girls JV basketball game I reffed tonight :(
Tip is at 2 pm at UC if you are interested.
Or we could all just watch the Bengals start their run to the Super Bowl.

Suck it UC!
BTW: We can't watch the Bengals. It's blacked out but I choose not watch them by choice.

Does anybody know if Xavier's doing a live video stream anywhere? UC is doing a video stream, but, you have to subscribe to their site to get it.

I see they haven't tried to "sell out the house" for this year - heaven knows UC badly needs at least one attendance bump a year.
There's always live audio at GoXavier.com - shall we open up the chat room for today's game?

Harris hits a 3 near the buzzer; Xavier now blowing it open 41-25.
Hopefully Amber's 2nd foul doesn't cause too much trouble in the 2nd half.

I tell people that this team basically has Kevin Durant (Harris) and Greg Oden (Phillips) on the same freakin team.

Don't put Ta'Shia in the same breath as Oden; she's much more durable and doesn't commit flagrant fouls in the endgame.

Now 47-31 at the under-16 timeout in the 2nd half

Now it's 48-39 Xavier; Shareese Ulis is single-handedly keeping UC in this one.

No Amber Gray or Katie Rutan? That's going to make it tough down the stretch.

Rutan's still hurt - not able to go today. Gray hasn't really made her way into the regular reserve rotation yet.

Didn't know she was hurt. She's like the lady Redford.

Maybe this game is already over. ESPN shows 30 sec. with X up 6.
Haven't scored much in last 4 minutes of game.

#9 Kentucky won't be as lucky - they were down 15 at Louisville in the 2nd half.

69-61 final. Nice effort away from home. Once again Amber Harris comes up big: 20 pts, 12 rebounds (5 offensive), 3 blocks, 2 assists and only 1 turnover.
The ladies will have to improve their FT and 3-point shooting to take down the better teams on their schedule.
A dose of Katie Rutan might just ease that malady!

Attendance today was 7,258 - that's over 1200 more than the attendance announced at the UC-Dayton game at USBank Arena. Were there really that many people in attendance or was that paid attendance?

UC was charging $5 for adults and $3 for students so the incentive was there. Xavier was charging $10 for the USC game.

Any win over that little school over in Clifton is a good win.
Atta way ladies!!!!
Way to continue the misery over there after that 8 loss football season.

Some nice woman dressed in her X attire had a big stack of tickets making sure people with the right colors on were getting into the game. For free none the less. I love our fans.

Anybody know how the old Xavier coach is doing? Melanie balcolm I think?

Nevermind, she is doing pretty well. I thought maybe she fell flat on her face but she didn't.
Eight NCAA Tournament appearances, eight 20-win seasons, eight top 25 finishes, three SEC Tournament Championships and four sweet 16 appearances. The list of accomplishments is more than most coaches achieve in their career, but for Vanderbilt Head Coach Melanie Balcomb, it is just the tip of the iceberg for what she has achieved in her eight years at Vanderbilt.

I know I enjoyed seeing Balcomb's season end at the Cintas Center last year.

I was happy to see the Muskie Ladies defeat Vandy to go to the Sweet Sixteen last year but I wasn't necessarily thrilled to see Coach Balcomb's season end. She was a wonderful coach for Xavier and brought our University to its highest level in Women's College Basketball (tied only by last year's team). She recruited well and took XU WBB to a much higher level than had ever been previously achieved. The win over Tennessee in her Elite Eight year is still the hallmark of the Xavier's Women's program.

Not just a win, but a spanking against Tennessee. I still remember just how livid Summitt was at her seniors that they got completely outplayed AND outhustled by the Muskies that day.
