I have the USC game on my site at www.scottdavis.smugmug.com fantastic game. Any Xavier fan in the Cincinnati area should have been there! Very small crowd, you have a #4 team in the country and probably a final four team and the place was empty!! With the prices they charge it's a steal. I promise the level of play these girls bring is nothing you have seen. How do you expect the media to support them if you don't
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do taking them.

tear in my eye, and breaking heart as I read this, just noticed in the box score. 1420 fans.
what a shame.
7-0 coming in to the game, #4 in the nation. 2 all americans, what more can be done? The real kicker is that this is very good basketball being played, fast paced exciting stuff.
I pray that things get better. I just wish I were there. If I was i'd be dragging people in with me, I'd be buying tickets for friends just to get them exposed.
to all those students, alums, xavier fans etc, all those who think you are fans of "real" basketball, give it a shot you might surprise yourself and find something else to love about Xavier!
as far as the paper goes, if i was the sport editor, i'd be giving them front above the fold coverage of every damn game, just because it's the right thing to do!
Nice shots Scott, great job! Especially #6

Thank you and by the way there wasn't one photo in the paper today as they didn't have a photographer at the game, just the AP and they didn't even use his photos.

The media doesn't cover it because their is very little interest as shown by the attendance.
I got to the game 20 minutes before game time and got a seat at mid court, lower level, row J. I thought there would be at least 3 or 4 thousand there for Southern California. Free parking right by the Cintas Center and $10 ticket prices wouldn't even bring the fans out. I think they need to get the women interested in the womens sports and they could drag their husbands and boyfriends to the games. It's hard for the men to get used to the girls games because of the big difference in the level of play.

I was shocked at how few people were at the game for a "name" opponent. The attendance is definitely better on the weekends than on the weekdays. It seems that people don't really want to make the effort to attend on weekday nights. Why was Louisville game so well attended? I agree with you xuwin -- they really need to start marketing mostly to women because I think that's where the biggest opportunity lies. However, the students could also make a better effort to attend as well.

Nice photos. Any reason why you don't photograph the mens games?

I just started shooting the women's games last year and that got me in to shooting things for Xavier like cross country, baseball and other events for Xavier. They have someone else for the mens games thats just how it works.
I really do enjoy shooting the women, I've been lucky the last few years I shot Ohio State women three years ago when Sammy Prahalis was a freshman and now last year Xavier had Katie as a freshman.
This year with Harris and Phillips most peple have know clue on good this years team is and with the schedule coming up they very well could be #2 in the country starting A-10 play. The way I see it as far as the students what else do you have to do that you can't come out and support a team thats putting you on the map!!
All I ever here is UC gets all the respect and the media never talks about Xavier, and then again where are you? I feel sorry for these ladies that play there butts off and are first class athletes. You will be the first ones to bitch when coach Mcguff takes another job for more money and fan support.
If you just gave them a chance you might get suprised and find yourself rooting and getting excited at a women's basketball game.
