Greetings to all in the Internet Tavern. Thanks to all of you for another year of endless entertainment for me.

I have a fantastic life and have many blessings to be thankful for:

-Health for my 88 year old Mother
-My trophy wife who is the light of my life
-3 wonderful kids- all college graduates and one an XU grad.
-My great son-in-law and daughter-in-law
-Full employment for all of my family
-Our beautiful grandchild who will be raised a Loyola Chicago and Xavier fan.
-My Xavier experience and degree.
-My Unviersity that continually makes me proud.
-Our athletic programs that strive for excellence in all respects.
-A full and super roster of friends.
-All of you who I have met though XU or this board.
-Living in the greatest country in the world.

When I review all of what God has bestowed on me and my family, an occasional loss in a basketball game becomes very irrelevant in the grand scheme.

As my Thanksgiving card to all of you, I once again present my grandaughter with a High Ten for the Xavier Nation from last March. Enjoy!:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I always like to think that he's pointing in the general direction of Dana's.

Great post MOR! Reps, sir.

The one thing I ask of everyone is to be safe. Whether I like you or not, please take care driving over the holiday season. While this is the time of great feasts, this is also the time for asshats on the road, drunk. Be careful, mind others around you, and enjoy the company of others.

Bless you all, because even though I hate to admit it, I love coming on here and reading your "insights" on the world.

My thanks to MOR for his friendship and tolerance and for sharing that picture as well.
I'll add to MOR's list, thanks:
*For continued freedom from the cancer beast for my beloved wife and me.
*For the acceptance and honorary membership in Lew Hirt Society.
*For being able to share thoughts and so forth on these two boards
*For a longer life and all of my blessings.
*For a faith that has sustained and enriched my life for 74 years.
Go Muskies!

I'm thankful for:

My beautiful wife, whom I really don't deserve
My amazing new house
The friends who will be joining us for dinner
The fact that bacon, butter and cream feature heavily on the menu

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I get back in touch with relatives for sure, and it is the only day of the year for me in which it is socially acceptable to drink alcohol during the day! I get to eat like a pig, watch football and drink beer.

If we only could have tied in essential marital obligations! My wife never seems wantful to comply after my day of drinking and feasting. I wish we could impose wifely duties... Someone should speak some sense to her.

Even with that, it is the best day of the year!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I'm thankful that I'm in good enough health to be running the Turkey Trot tomorrow. I am not thankful it's going to be cold and rainy.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. American X highly approves of this holiday.

This year should be more peaceful than last when I proceeded to get bombed mid-afternoon while yelling at the TV as Xavier fell to Marquette. Although this year I am highly anticipating Texas A&M going for its 9th win at tu (while handing the teasips a losing season).

A special thanks from XavierHoops to Al Gore for inventing the internet and to Kevlin Sampson for his ongoing gifts to the program.

Just one question - was President Obama pardoning, hypnotizing, or healing this turkey?

I would say he's Proselytizing.

If you are a Xavier grad or otherwise XU connected, you know what that means.

If you are involved in any way with SucKS or udump, you are puzzled.

What I'm thankful for...

- My family. They've stuck with me, tolerated me, encouraged me, and have supported me. Their door is always open and whenever I call, they answer. When I've needed help, they offer it without reservation.

- My girlfriend. I call her the future wife of my children. Three and a half years together and she is by far and away too good for me. When they say the girl is out of his league, they are talking about our relationship. Her support and love is second to none, and I cannot be happier being with her.

- My friends. Sure, they're assholes. Sure they make sure I don't forget my faults and screw-ups, but darn it all if they don't do it with a smile on their face. The new ones and the old ones, they all are great. They humor me and sometimes even take my words into consideration. Its a good feeling.

- The roofs over my head. I have a place I love in Cincinnati, and there's always a place back home at my parents. It warm, comfortable, and there's always a big tv to watch the game on.

- My teams. The Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins, Notre Dame, and of course, Xavier. Love them all, even if they are subpar in performances sometimes. Root for them no matter what.

- Xavierhoops... Sure as hell isn't that OTHER site. For the most part, I love reading what you all have to say. Even though I don't always agree with some, I at least can take comfort in knowing that I know more than them. It's not arrogance, my friends...thats the damn truth! :D

Please, everyone have a safe and wonderful holiday. Who knows, maybe Tom Brady will go down against Detroit too!

I'm thankful for the safe return home of my friend and X grad who just arrived yesterday from Afghanistan to his wife and two young daughters after spending the past year on the front lines.

...His Holiness.

... a 3rd straight trip for the guys to the Sweet 16.

...an Elite 8 bid for the women and a team that could potentially go through both Cincy and Dayton to lock up the school's first Final 4 trip up to Indy.

...a wonderful board for Xavier and other fans to share a few minutes just BSing every day.

...countless men and women serving abroad away from family and friends so that we can enjoy today and all of our freedoms.

...a patient family willing to tolerate me and accept me for who I am.

...an employer that appreciates what I do for them on a daily basis.

...college basketball games on Thanksgiving that allows us to turn away from 3 unwatchable NFL games.

Here is what I got from my wife's family all night tonight.
"damn xu sucks this year too".
I wanted to stab myself in the eye with a pencil.

Yeah. Last year Thanksgiving during the Marquette game was brutal for me. I get the last laugh at Easter when Xavier is still playing deep in March and all the other teams have faded away.

Keep the faith.
