Losses to Seton Hall, Iowa and St. Peters. Impressive.

Someone had to go 0-3... But unlike UC, they really ARE a football school. I'm sure the majority of the Bama faithful aren't too concerned with the basketball team as the Auburn football game is on Friday. Something tells me that they are more concerned with that than basketball.

Amazingly, their basketball team actually outperformed Auburn's this week.

Wasn't Anthony Grant supposed to be the next great young coach?
That's what Bama gets for hiring a Dayton grad.

You answered your own question.

Yes, but I thought it was St. Peters or the other cupcake school (the one Iowa has in the final round) that were supposed to be the 0-3 sacrificial lambs (cupcakes) to protect the better schools from that embrassing fate.
Ah, but think back the the 1970's when we were "invited" to the Volunteer Classic (or whatever it was) to serve that role of "Tournament Punching Bag".. Sometimes the Punching Bag punches back!

Let's just say Grant's honeymoon period has ended and leave it at that.

after the sec title game, or whenever it is their team is eliminated, auburn and alabama fans begin to check the scores. if the team has been winning up to that point, they'll come to the games and check it out. if they keep winning momentum will build and it will actually become a huge deal by the time conference play begins with people being just as geeked for it as any other fanbase is.
if the team isn't winning, which neither of them are, it's like basketball never happens. it's not that fans go around all pissed off about it. it's that they don't go around at all.

I said this going into the tournament, the only two decent teams playing were X and ODU. In fact they are the only two who were projected as tournament teams. A lot of people on this board like to talk about how big name BCS program schools are overrated, and then they expected Alabama and Iowa to be good, even though they are no more than bottom feeders in their respective conferences.

I can't think of a single person who said they expected Iowa to be good.

Are you telling me Iowa wouldn't win the Atlantic 10?
Remember when Cronin said he didn't recruit Holloway because it would be unfair to him to have to sit behind Cashmere Wright? What a comedian.

Bama got rid of Gottfried because they were tired of playing at or just above .500 ball in conference every year. Oops. Be careful what you wish for.
