A-10 is looking really weak after the Richmond loss. There is a lot of talent in the conference but losing these games could end up canibalizing A-10 bids once conference play starts. If some underperforming team in non conference get their acts together in conference and win games against the few teams that did well out of conference the A-10 can turn into a 1 or 2 bid conference. Which means if X doesn't get it together before they play good competition they will have to win the conference tourney to get in. Temple still looks legit and UD can play. RI and Richmond are solid and SLU will be once the suspension ends.

URI has played surprisingly well early on.

Nothing that URI does surprises me anymore. They are great and they suck every year it seems. It is like it all blurs together. You say "Wow, that is great, Go URI", and then they collapse and you say "What happened to URI". So in a sense if they are winning it isn't surprising, it is just setting the stage for another incredible collapse. I would hate to be a URI fan.
I guess it is good to be King.

URI is a great November team but when it comes to money time they fold. Hopefully they figure it out this year.

That's funny, anytime anyone asks me how Rhody is supposed to be (in any season) my response is "they're pretty good but they also suck."

Great. They're the Clemson of the A-10.

I think Clemson will be pretty good now that Brownell is down there. That sample size was under Purnell.

Hey, better than the other way around. With a good non-conference showing it helps the RPI of other A-10 teams when URI inevitably collapses during conference play.

Because they play an unorthodox style. A-10 teams are used to their style and know how to beat them. It's similar with Dayton, which is why both of those teams tend to collapse once A10 play starts.

UD probably won't collapse this year. They have too many scorers. They will no doubt lose some games but I'd be shocked if they don't finish in the top 3.
I have no problem with RI or any A-10 team playing great out of conference and collapsing during conference play. It might prevent the conference from getting 4 or 5 bids but should help to get 3.
The Duquesne loss was very disappointing. Robert Morris is good but Duquesne has a lot of talent and just doesn't seem able to put it together.
Big games for the A-10 today with a couple against the SEC. These are needed to build a solid profile. Hopefully X can get the W against the Hall tomorrow.
