Cintas Center looks AWESOME!!! Ribbon board adds soooo much to the atmosphere. Seems like the team has a lot of personality.. Couldn't really give you detailed explanations of all the new comers but I thought they looked pretty solid. Not one player stuck out like they wouldn't be able to ball at the college level.
***Amber Harris Dunked***
-Coach Neighbors grabbed the microphone and said there is NO excuse for anyone not to buy season tickets if Amber dunks it and she slammed it down pretty good. I was impressive. It didn't even seem like a woman dunk.... There was some authority.

Is this the official post-madness thread?

Three things jumped out at me. First, any or all of the four freshmen can contribute. Martin is probably the most polished with the ball. If he can gain his eligibility, he could start. Latham is athletic and I think will add key minutes later in the season.
Secondly, McLean looks like an NBA forward. His body is monstrous compared to last year and he knows how to use it. I look for him to have a huge season.
Finally, Kenny Frease looked lighter, but it hasn't helped his hands. Conversely, Jeff Robinson made plays at both ends of the court, with or without the ball. They could throw passes to him cutting thru the lane, and he would handle them and be able to make offensive moves. It is amazing how quick and effortless his hops are. His understanding of the game is beyond his sophomore status. Bottom line - Jeff Robinson will replace Kenny Frease in the starting lineup at some point this season.
In summary, go ahead and talk smack to all the Dayton and UC faithful. They cannot hang with us.
Summary II - The scoreboard is spectacular. The ribbon boards are amazing.

How did Canty look? McKenzie? Latham?
Did the recruits seem like they were enjoying it?

Canty and Griff both stroked threes, but Latham and Martin fit better in the flow of the game. Travis Taylor will be real good. Robinson was impressive, but I felt liked he still shied away from contact. He is defintiely a face-to-the-basket type of player. I don't look for Frease to score much, but I do expect him to collect more rebounds and play better defense. Everyone else was spretty much as-expected.
When all is said and done Holloway will be in the discussion for best pure X point guard ever.

First off, I just want to say how completely impressed I am with Coach Neighbors. He will be a head coach somewhere very soon.
I thought our freshmen (and Amber Gray) looked very good. I liked what I saw from each of them. Hawkes and Wanninger each hit a three. Ashley took three attempts from 3 and her shot looks really good to me. Shatyra is so tiny, but she is very quick. Lynette and Sabrina were very aggressive -- really getting after it and battling Ta'Shia. Latisha also did some good things. Amber Gray did play and wore a mask over her face. I really like the players in this class. Hopefully next year we can see what Crouch can do.
Obviously, you can't take too much from a scrimmage, but I liked what I saw overall. I'm still a little concerned about the lack of experience outside of the starters, but Coach McGuff will have a lot of good options this year to work with. I look forward to seeing what we can do in game action. I've got my season tickets ready.

I was impressed with the women's scrimmage. They looked really good. It was good to see Amger Gray playing, so obviously her doctor's have ok'd her to play so hopefully the NCAA will grant her request to play this year since Tenn would not clear her. If she is cleared by the NCAA this team should and hopefully will be in the Final 4.
