Another new scoreboard

Seems the Soccer Stadum was getting jealous over Cintas Center getting a new scoreboard.

It was needed. I went a few weeks ago to watch a women's game, as one of my college buddies is now the head coach at X. Anyway, the old one was pretty sorry. Glad to see X supporting other sports programs.

I do wish X would modify the seating there. There's a few rows of bleachers and then all that hillside area. I don't get it. I don't really want to sit on grass for an hour and half to watch soccer. I think X could build more stands into the hillside. Maybe the thought is that it's quaint but I'm too old for that crap.:sword:

All we need now is to rebuild the old brick and concrete stands, make the capacity 20,000 and bring back football!!!

By the way- Corcoran Field/Xavier Stadium was featured in a 1946 Hollywood movie The Best Years of Our Lives with Frederic March, Dana Andrews, Myrna Loy and Harold Russell. To wit:

The "Jackson High" football stadium seen early in the movie in aerial footage was Corcoran Stadium, the home of Xavier University's (Cincinnati) football team from 1929 to 1973

I hate to sound like one of those old farts with the "back-in-the-day" rants but the view of the outside of that stadium from Victory Parkway was something to behold.
