I thought about limiting this to baseball, but I couldn't think of enough to fill a thread.
Anyway Cecil and Prince Fielder are great baseball names.
My favorite all time sports name, however, is Biff Pocoroba- former Atlanta Braves catcher.
How's about 'em?

World Be Free
I should have qualified that it would have to be the player's real given name- no Chad Ochocinco, for example.
Free's real name was Lloyd.

For a pitcher, I think Grant Balfour is a pretty lousy name.

I think Bob Huggins is a pretty crappy name too.

Lloyd Free did change his name to World B. Free and I believe he changed the names of his sons to World B. Free Jr. and Third World. (I know I read this and, unfortunately for the sons it probably happened).

James Mikely Mantell Posey, Jr.
My Posey story: I was at the Cleveland Clinic wearing a Xavier T-Shirt and this kind older man came up to me.
JMMP,Sr: You may have heard of my son, James Posey.
Snipedog: You mean James Mikely Mantell Posey, Jr? You must be James Mikely Mantell Posey, Sr!
He got a kick out of that and so did I.

Also, Jerry Ball (or any defensive player named Ball). Not because the name is so good, but because when they get to the QB it's hilarious to hear an announcer claim, "that's a big, Ball sack."
Richard Keith Clapp apparently knew his name wasn't anything special, so he goes by the more entertaining Stubby Clapp.

Chico beat me to it. As a kid growing up here in the 70's I wasn't even sure I could say Boobie Clark in front of my parents.
How about a great name that led to one of the best rally crys in college basketball?

New dude on the college recruiting scene.....
God’s Gift Achiuwa
God’s Gift Will Sign in April
His name is God’s Gift and according to his coach, he might just be that for some college program.
God’s Gift Achiuwa is a 6-foot-8 power forward originally from Nigeria who competes at Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y. His father is a minister in his home country and gave him the unusual name.
He is being recruited by Ohio State, ***Cincinnati, St. John’s, N.C. State, Marquette, Hawaii and Niagara, according to Erie coach Alex Nwora.
