Campus police recommend players be charged, perp corroborates victim testimony, but prosecutor declines to prosecute anyway. Hmmmm. Victim says this feels oddly familiar...

i saw that earlier. i only know what's in the article so there could be a big piece that is missing, but that just doesn't make sense. they had two corroborating statements, among other pieces of evidence, and a strong recommendation by te police, yet they decided to not even go for an indictment of any kind.

well, case closed i guess...at least legally.

Rumor has it that Adrien Payne was one of the 2 players involved. Kind of glad we didn't get him now.

Eh, stuff like this always gets difficult. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't no one will ever know.

Sounds like a perfect example of a prosecutor not wanting to hurt that conviction percentage though sadly.

That is just sad to hear. I first off feel terrible for the woman involved. I cannot begin to imagine how frustrating it must be to report such a thing, and go through in detail as to what happened when filing a police report with the authorities, only to have the prosecuting attorney throw it out.

Second, these things just leave bad tastes towards the programs involved. Look at Duke Lacrosse. I wore a Duke Lacrosse shirt the other day (seeing as I am a lifelong Duke fan, and being a lacrosse coach/former player, I enjoy watching them play) and I got a little flack from those at the bar for wearing it. I believe they were innocent in that situation, and that case was much more drawn out than this one so far... but still, rape, sexual assault, etc. are just one of those types of crimes that I find repulsive.

Finally, I hope that IF these guys are guilty, they get what they deserve and not a bit less. There's a special place in hell for assholes who commit such crimes.

I didn't know that there was anyone who still thought the Duke Lacrosse players were guilty. Those kids clearly got railroaded.

You would think that's the case. But I feel about half the time I wear that shirt, someone kind of gives me a look or says something to the effect that I must support a group of rapists. Not the majority of people by any regard, but none the less it happens. The uninformed are everywhere... Beware.
