After college, O'Donnell moved to Washington, D.C., first working for an anti-pornography group, then taking jobs with the Republican National Committee and with Concerned Women for America, an anti-feminist group. She also founded a nonprofit group called the Savior's Alliance for Lifting the Truth, to promote "righteous" values and sexual morality. It was in connection with her work for the group that O'Donnell was featured in a 1996 MTV documentary, "Sex in the '90s," to tout abstinence and speak out against masturbation. That clip of the young O'Donnell has already attracted a large viral audience online, after the liberal MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow aired it on her show Tuesday night.

I have to agree with Karl Rove in regards to O'Donnell. They just lost another potential seat.

Why is personal opposition to masturbation so controversial? It wasn't like she was saying it should be illegal. Last time I checked, the Catholic Church teaches that masturbation is a mortal sin. It seems to me that anyone claiming to be a doctrinally sound Catholic should receive the same level of derision. Allegedly, Xavier is a Catholic institution and in theory endorses the teachings of the Church (though, in practice, this claim is certainly suspect). Where is the outrage over Xavier's Catholicism and attendant teaching against masturbation?

Sinner.

Uh oh. I've been counting it as a venial sin all these years. I may be a little bit behind on my penance.

Today, I heard Karl Rove referred to as "Toyko" Rove. IMO, he is nothing but a washed-up GOP lapdog. I'm an independent conservative, and I hope O'Donnell cleans her Democrat adversary's clock in November. This upcoming election is about the best interests of the country and its future generations. It's not about old time politics, and not about old time political hacks.

I've experimented with some strategically located small shocks, but nothing as strong as.................. wait, that's not what you meant, is it?

I would venture to guess Snipe would be more concerned over the fact she can't manage her personal finances. Not sure that's a good thing to be sending Washington.

No worries DC. She could always take a personal finance course from Rangel or Geitner.:D

Apparently a lot of Republicans are disappointed.
But this is how democracy works. The Republicans in DC (Boehner included) have simply done an awful job of connecting to the Republican base.
I'm sure history will look back at the massive political failure of DC Republicans from 2006-2012 (from a policy perspective, you can include the entire Bush term).
I think it's refreshing that the Republicans have some candidates that have concerns about medicare and social security.
