Yea, I'll rub it in. Those of us out of town get to see the Bengals tonight.

Anyway, gone from Cincinnati for six years now and I'm struck by what a great town Cincinnati really is.
Pro sports with the Reds leading the NL Central, hope springing again for a playoff season for the Bengals. College sports on all sides of town. Just tons and tons of stuff going on every day, every season.
And just get a look at the city, coming from a guy who now lives in a booming metropolis of about 3000 souls, 2 gas stations, a hardware store and a couple restaurants, just looking at downtown on TV makes me jealous. Say what you will about what city and county government is down there, the decisions they've made over the last 3 or 4 decades have resulted in an attractive and happening little downtown.

Having just returned from there, following my little teaching gig at X, I can absolutely state that I feel the same way.

The new tower is beautiful, in my opinion. The Tiara will be magnificent once it's lit up.

Nightlife appears to be returning to downtown, including Over-The-Rhine making a comeback. I had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches of my life at Lavomatic before we left to return to Jacksonville.

Mt. Adams appears to be hopping again. The Pavilion renovation worked out well - a helluva nice view and setting, even though a UD alumni reception was taking place the night we were there.

Of course, what is transpiring with Xavier's campus speaks loudly for itself.

Cincinnati may not have any palm trees or ocean, but I'll gladly take everything else.

yeah, I like Cincinnati,

I really think that Over the Rhine remains a major issue. Hopefully the streetcar will help.

Well there we have it, the nightlife in downtown is back!

I'm just kidding, I agree with all you have said. I think Mt. Adams is hopping again and I do love the Pavilion. It's great to have all different types of sports doing well in Cincinnati. Xavier basketball, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and of course, because I'm a hockey fan, The Cincinnati Cyclones.

And guess what the programming was on Fox45 tonight in place of the Bengals? Addams Family and Muensters reruns (aka the Waleskowski and Finn show) - I am not making this up.

But in the meantime, it's time to settle in for the Reds.

The Bengals are definitely entertaining this year, now to see if they can play.

Morgan Trent kinda had a nice game last night - 3 pics. Against the scrubs, but he looked really solid.
