Not to get everyone all worked up on LeBron again, but he is just an unbearable dude. The guy's ego is so big. I really am glad he didnt go to NY, as much as I was hoping he would at the time. I never liked him, but I wanted "his talents" in NY. Well I'm glad they arent.

Here is his part of his latest interview:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5470162

"And he said Cleveland fans were "awesome," but didn't take back his comment late last season that those around him were "spoiled" by his play.

"I love our fans. Cleveland fans are awesome," he told GQ. "But I mean, even my family gets spoiled at times watching me doing things that I do, on and off the court."

Seriously? What a douche.

And here is how he explains not being a fan of anything Cleveland growing up but rather choosing to be a Cowboys, Bulls, and Yankees fan! Gross.

"It's not far, but it is far," (referring to the distance of Akron and Cleveland) James told GQ. "And Clevelanders, because they were the bigger-city kids when we were growing up, looked down on us. ... So we didn't actually like Cleveland. We hated Cleveland growing up. There's a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day."

Seriously.

Really LeBron? You still hate some people today because when they were kids they thought they were better than you because they lived in Cleveland and you lived in Akron? Move on dude.

Not to mention that is a perfectly good explanation for why you chose to be a Yankee, Cowboy, and Bulls fan.

I forget who said this a while ago, but I'm really starting to believe that LeBron is marketing himself as the NBA's top heel. The guy knows how to get under people's skin and knows how to self-promote without any sense of humility. Who's his top adviser, Vince McMahon?

I get that reporters are bored with "former" Minnesota Viking quarterbacks, but now they'll beat the LeBron James card to death as we go through the dog days of summer.

People made fun of Michael Jordan for being too safe and PR conscience. Lebron definitely shows there's a bad side of moving too far in the other direction.

You mean when he was out gambling on basketball and cheating on his wife?

I have no idea what this guy has in his delusional mind.

I have never, EVER, heard anyone from up here near the lake talk in a demeaning way about Akron. WTF? Everybody up here, including the Plain Dealer thinks Akron is just fine and has a lot of good things about it. It's an important part of Northeast Ohio. Maybe LeQuitter is just referring back to some punks he played with on the playground talking smack about Summit County. If so, that is one helluva basis to make a decision on, and an idiotic way to form a vendetta.

Seems to me that everybody in Northeast Ohio gave this guy all the love and support anyone could ask for with no regard for Akron, Cleveland or Canton. The jerk should just shut up and "take his "talents" to South Beach"- permanently.

Does everyone forget he is also responsible for two small children?

You mean he pays for two small children. Anyone who would ever leave those kids in the care of Gloria James, if only for five minutes, is not responsible!

Yes, LBJ has gone off the deep end and his ego is totally out of control.

And, for the record, LBJ is on crack (well, figuratively...in the literal sense, his mother was). I grew up in Cleveland and I don't ever remember a Cleveland-Akron rivalry. And people in Cleveland didn't look down on Akron. Maybe, being the son of a crack whore, he just grew up with a chip on his shoulder. Of course by "grew up" I mean grew physically. LBJ has yet to grow up mentally.

yeah, his PR team couldn't hide that. But for the most part they were incredibly successful.

Ya I got ya.

Although the whole I'm going to retire to play baseball ordeal tricked quite a few people. I'm shocked at how many people dont realize the real reason he did that. Like the best basketball player on the planet really wanted to play baseball. What a joke. I hear Peyton Manning is going to try out the NBA D league next year.

In no way am I defending the decisions he's made, but to play devil's advocate...

First off, I think it's easy to develop an ego when you're 25 and ever since you were in high school, were praised as the second coming of MJ in national media. The guy was touted as "King James" at 17 and high school games were being broadcast on national TV. When you had your first child, Forbes magazine quoted that the child was worth, the minute it was born, $200 million (Tiger's first child was quoted as being worth $232 million...). People were doing all they could to get a piece of him, and what the hell was his contract with Nike worth when he got drafted? Wasn't it around $90 million? Face it, the guy has been told his shit doesn't stink for so long, and now that he's done something like this, he's not listening to people who tell him otherwise. It's in the human psychology that if you're told you're awesome by EVERYONE you know, EVERYTHING you read, and hear people praising you for throwing powder into the air...then you're probably going to act like your actions don't matter since people will love you anyways.

Second, he's going to play with friends, essentially keep his endorsement, and no one on the heat has done his mother. Again, I can understand that. The best jobs I've had in my young life were with people who I have been friends with for years, and despite shitty pay or semi-shitty conditions, I still was able to enjoy it because I was with good enough friends where the other factors didn't bother me.

Finally, yes, he's marketing himself. He was quoted on ESPN a few years back during in interview about making money. His words (paraphrasing because it was a bit ago), "I want to be the richest man in the world...Look out Bill Gates!" Does anyone else remember that interview? It was about a year or two after he went to the Cavs. Grant it, most people would have matured, and realized there's more to life than have more money than anyone else. And in some respects, it seems LeBron has done that (See point #2). But then again, LeBron isn't most people. He's a a freak of nature, a pure phenom (and anyone who says differently is full of it). He's known world-wide by his first name and hundred of thousands of people wish they could be him. It's because of that, endorsements are willing to pay millions upon millions of dollars just to have him give a thumbs up next to their product.

Fact is, LeBron made a decision that I feel wouldn't have been that bad if he didn't do it in the manner in which he did it. People are bitter, and they have a right to be. Personally, I think considerably less of him after it. But in the same respects, I can honestly see why he did what he did.

Ah yes, the urban legend that he was quietly suspended and not actually "retired" from the NBA. How bad would David Stern look if that rumor were actually substantiated.

He didnt get suspended. He avoided the heat by bowing out for a year. No ifs, ands, or buts about it (IMO). Michael Jordan had some serious gambling problems and this allowed Stern and the league to sweep them under the rug.

Not nearly as bad as the NBA minus Michael Jordan in his prime years.

I have been a Cavs fan since the team started in 1970. I am a bigger fans since LeQuit left. The dude is psycho. His "talents" are all channeled into his physical stature. His intellect is pretty much non-existent. His brain is stuck on 16 years old.

yeah, a small part of me feels bad for him. Having a strong family unit around him would probably help.

Hey Cleveland, don't worry about it. I know you've never seen anyone as good as I am do anything as well as I played basketball in front of you guys, but I'm still not going to hold a grudge because I do everything so well even my own FAMILY is spoiled, LOL!

Is the second one even douchier than the first? Either way, that comment has a big lead for douchiest comment of the year.

I'm no Cleveland fan, or Heat fan, I'm a Maverick fan. But I had a pretty cool experience last week at Cedar Point. My sister actually saw Lebron getting a special escort to the Magnum rollercoaster I believe it was. I said no way. He had about 10 people with him, and after the ride was over, everyone who walked by stopped and said, "whats going on?". So we would tell people that Lebron was there. The funny thing is, his son, Bryce, actually ran away from Lebron, and slipped through the large crowd to where I was standing over away from the crowd. He almost ran into me, but the security guards ran over and brought him back to 'bron. As the story goes, everyone followed him to the top thrill dragster. I got in-line for it before he got on, so I didn't know until I saw him in one of the "cars". We felt bad for him, because everyone was following him, so we just moved along. But there sure were some anti-lebron comments. A couple of guys asked me if we wanted to start a "Lebron sucks" chant, but I said, I'm from NY, I'm indiferrent to Lebron. There were some pro-lebron shouts, few and far between.

Just wanted to share my experience.
