One small problem - their curse does not extend itself to UC and other schools.
Even with the new preseason tournaments that have sprung up recently (Old Spice in Orlando, the 76 Classic in Anaheim) to go with the traditional tournaments like Maui, Alaska, and the Preseason NIT, it's funny that UD is stuck in a subpar "Cincinnati" tournament.

is the cincinnati tournament an exempt tourney?? uc has played exempt tournaments where it's themselves and three other buster teams where they play a round robin. in essence, it's three exempt buy games. i wasn't sure if the tournament with dayton was an exempt tourney, or if it was just a double header. do you know??
i guess i could look it up, but i really don't feel like it.
That was great at last years game when the JIMMY CARTER chant got going and even better when the WHOOPIE GOLDBERG chant did.

It's an exempted "event" concocted by UC. Dayton's only in because it got them what is essentially a neutral/away series with UC. With the support (or lack there of) UC hoops is getting now, US Bank arena will probably be 60/40 in favor of UD. Maybe even 70/30.

thanks.
i agree that ud will be better represented than uc will. uc fans claim that it is now a football school, which is kind of funny considering that as recently as 2003 people were advocating dropping the football program and complaining about how they were forced to buy football tickets with their basketball season tickets. now, there are a lot of basketball games where it is pretty empty in there.
If I'm not mistaken, Dayton has thumped UC the last two times they played them in Cincinnati.

They also beat Kentucky at the U.S. Bank/Firstar/Crown/Riverfront - Arena/Center/Coliseum a few years back

The Kentucky game was back in 1999/2000, when Tayshaun Prince was still at UK. Still the best game I've ever been to. The looks on the faces of the UK fans were priceless. I'm sure many a trailer park was torn apart that evening.
Dayton also beat Louisville at US Bank Arena when Marcus Johnson was a freshman.

Is there a time limit on "exempted tournament games"?
I mean, how many overtimes can be allowed when the score between the two teams is still 0-0?

In Dayton, or Kentucky? Please clarify...
