View Full Version : Prayers Please, One More Time

I cannot believe I am yet again asking for prayers.

My Mother started recieving radiation treatment today for a very agressive lung cancer. She is having treatments every day for the foreseeable future and has been checked into the hospital quite unexpectedly. The prognosis is not good, considering that the cancer has virtually doubled in size in 3 weeks and has spread beyond just one lung.

So I ask please, if you can, say a prayer for an absolute saint, a woman who raised 6 boys and was once named Ohio Teacher of the Year. She, and my entire family would appreciate it. Thanks for your time and attention. (it has been a roller coaster ride for the past year, to put it mildly)

In my mind and intentions, Thor.

Ive got a sister who has come out the other end from colon cancer surgery, radiation and chemo; and a friend who lost a quarter of her lung to cancer. Cancer is a tough tough row to hoe, but family and friends will get her through.

I want to genuinely thank everyone for the kind words and prayers.

Unfortunately my Ma passed away Monday morning after a very short, but fierce, fight with lung cancer. So if you could, please just say a quick prayer for Irenes soul. She was a damn good woman. Oh and Hospice of Cincinnati East really do Gods work. They are angels on Earth.

I heard the news last night in Dana's.

God's speed to your mother. I have already said a prayer for Irene.

Losing a parent is tough. At least you come to think back on all the good times as time moves forward, and you do that knowing she is in a very good place.

I just had a mini roller coaster ride, nothing comparable to your situation.

It felt like opening day for the Baltimore Orioles with their new manager Buck Showalter. Tons of energy, and the O's won. I hadn't felt better all year after watching the O's play.

And then I see this news. I am awfully sorry about the passing of your mother. I hope you and your family the best as you endure this. You are in my prayers.

Pete,
No matter the age, losing a parent sucks. May God grant your mom, Irene, His smile and blessings eternally. And may you and yours, all of you, be comforted in the knowledge that we'll continue to remember you in our prayers. After all, you are all part of Xavier.:(

Thoughts and prayers to you and all of your mom's loved ones. My mom passed last year and I find solace in remembering all of the wonderful memories I have of her. In time I hope you can do the same.

yes losing a mom sucks - the pain does get easier, however, and at least for me, not many days will go by that you won't think of her, so try and remember all the good things.

PM, very sorry to hear about your loss. I cannot imagine what it feels like to lose a parent, and my prayers are with you and your family.
This past month seems to have royally sucked with all kinds of death. A good friend of mine (and '95 X alum and big X fan) and his wife lost their 10 month old daughter while she waited for a liver to come in for a transplant. My cousin gave birth early to twins and the boy only made it 24 hours. I had a former co-worker commit suicide. To top it off, the woman who died in the jetski accident oh the Ohio River a few weeks ago was an ex of mine (from high school).
