From the Indy Star (http://www.indystar.com/article/20100702/SPORTS04/7020329/Pacers-Stephenson-could-be-special-or-a-headache)

The nickname "Born Ready" is tattooed on Lance Stephenson's right arm.

He was anointed with that name by the public address announcer at Rucker Park in New York. He also starred in an online reality show of the same name.

Wasnt that one of the reasons he was going to possibly be ineligible?

Why can't he be both special AND headache? Seems possible.

It certainly didn't take long for that question to be answered...

I have no idea how the entire NBA draft/summer/contract period works.

Is he officially signed with the Pacers for this upcoming season?

Edit: looks like he's under contract:

Ya, looks like hes guaranteed a decent amount of money too for 2 years.

There's got to be a clause that would allow the Pacers to get out of the contract for "actions detrimental to the team".

I would think so as well, but I dont think they will use it, unless Lance ends up in jail or something. He has talent and unfortunately that is deemed more important a lot of times. I would be surprised if he is cut over this.

I think Lance Stephenson would be great to have on a succesful team that has a lot of structure (Celtics, Spurs, Lakers). He would have some good role models and feel pressured to behave well. He's big and athletic and could instantly provide some nice D, rebounding, etc...

But I can't see him doing well in Indianapolis. IMHO, this won't end well.

Screw him and his "support" system. If he's too stupid to realize what he has in front of him, he deserves to fall. Idiot.

I hate UC.

Not so sure about that. Bird's comments have been pretty stinging. I have a feeling there will be a short investigation and then he will be cut, with the team looking to void the contract.

Yeah, I havent seen the comments. The Pacers do like a clean image I guess.

I just thought that they thought enough of Stephenson's talents to give him a guaranteed two years as a 2nd round pick, and that they wouldnt be quick to cut him. I think it will depend on how it plays out with the law.

The Pacers are constantly trying to clean their image from the Ron Artest brawl in Detroit. I am very curious to see what they do with Lance.
