I used to live right on this street until 2.5 years ago. Crazy.

I used to deal drugs in that area. I would start by giving it away free to the kids and telling them to give it to their friends. They would always come back for more. That is when you know you got em.

Hyde Park is a great place to deal drugs but you wouldn't want to live there. I don't know how people can raise their kids there. It is insane.

We used to grow it in the yard when I went to X. Nobody cared. 5k a lb? We never paid a cent. I used to visit a buddy @ IU. They grew it in the FRONT Yard, next door to Campus Security. I say make it legal and tax the shit outta it.

I agree they should make it legal, but people need to know they are in deep do-do if they get busted with five pounds of pot. And you know the cops are going to weigh it wet and include all of the stem and rootbase in the gross weight. You can get in some serious trouble from one little seed. It should be legalized, but the people that are breaking the law know the consequenses, or at least they should when they start growing.

When I gave it to the Hyde Park kids, my secret was I told them not to tell their parents. Works everytime. What a dump Hyde Park is and their public schools are terrible. I would be afraid to leave my house.

I am shocked!!!

I thought all drugs came from the west side on Cincinnati.

What a shame. All those beautiful plants, put on this planet by god, and now they will be destroyed.

Wish I knew they had this elaborate operation in Norweed and Hyde Park, I could have saved myself some gas by going there instead of driving into Over the Rhine for my dime bags.

On the news this drug house had a huge Xavier flag flying in the window!

I wonder which board member got arrested.

The last I remember, this house was being rented out by the owners, but not sure if that was still the case or not.

Are they sure they didn't make a mistake??

Seriously, $5000 dollars a pound?????
Perhaps with this statement I'll show how old I really am, but I remember friends, you know, friends, buying weed back in the day. It was called a nickel bag because a quarter ounce was $5, 20 dollars for an ounce. At about 300 or so a pound, that's what the report says this is worth by the ounce??? What does it do for you besides give you a buzz?

From what my friends tell me about the stuff, that dollar figure sounds about right. Back in the day it may have cost a $20 an ounce, but can you give me an example of what costs the same now as it did back in the day? As with everything else, inflation hit the marijuana market.

Not to mention, this isn't the same stuff they had back in the day. Today's stuff is grown much differently and is more potent than the stuff the hippies smoked 40 years ago. At least that is what my friends tell me when we talk about the topics of the day.

$5K a kilo, projected at retail to $140/ounce , makes some sense, but no one is paying that price ($5K a pound = $300+ an ounce) for domestic (Ohio) pot, even from special seeds. I have a buddy whose son carefully cultivates 2 plants year of "bubblegum" pot. Over beers, of course, he's discussed the market in detail.

I have an acquaintance, shall we say, who is a wine expert, but also dabbles in other intoxicants. He keeps 5-7 varieties at a time in nice little sealed thermidors. He pays outlandish prices for exotics, which as noted previously in this thread are hybridized to incredibly potent levels that would put most mere mortal boomers on their collective asses.

I'm curious how much pot was available on campus in the 70s and 80s. Seems to me alcohol has always been, will always be, the drug of choice at Xavier.

I know a LOT of people that routinely pay $100 for a quarter of high grade indoor bud and in excess of $350 an ounce. That's pretty much the going rate for premium herb these days. $140 an ounce will get you some bricked, brown headache grass. So I've been told.

You are flat out wrong that no one is paying $300 per ounce. In some circles, that is about the only weed you can find, and are fortunate if that is the price you pay. I am not sure where you live, but in the greater Cincy area, $300 per ounce of decent stuff is a very fair price.

Smails is correct, there are ounces sold for $140, but it was shrink wrapped into a brick, and trucked here in a car fender from Mexico by some beaner. Most of the domestic stuff is now grown indoors and is of very high quality

...at least, this is what my buddies tell me.

I pass on grass.
