Hey XavierHoops members and guests,

We are 24ish days away from the beginning of the World Cup. ESPN is running a tournament pick 'em similar to the NCAA tournament. There's a chance to win $5K and the game is free.

I set up a group for any of you that want to play. It's a private group so you will need the password. Directions follow:

First select which two teams will advance out of each the eight groups. The order you select them - 1st or 2nd - determines where they are placed in the 16-team bracket. Then predict the winner of the 15 bracket matches throughout the Finals. All picks lock with the first kickoff on Friday, June 11, 2010. Good luck!

I'm in. Slight bias in favor of African teams given the venue, but it will all be grand.

What are the odds of a punchup involving Rooney in the first game? I don't think the young Yanks are going to take his lip, and he's got a lot of lip to go with a lot of game.

Over/Under 100 flops for the entire tournament. I'm betting the over.

Well I picked early, and cant change entries apparently. I had Ivory Coast through to the final with Drogba. I'm screwed.

My NCAA pool works like this, same number of points available in each round.

Can't wait for Saturday!
