Sounds like Russell will in deed be getting a tryout at the next mini camp....This team is turning into a joke more and more everyday....Why not try to lure Ryan Leaf...He is a piece of shit player like the last few they brought in....PacMan, Russell, Matt Jones....

More and more I think of the following scene from Blazing Saddles when it comes to the Bengals:
Qualifications?
Rape, murder, arson, rape.
You said rape twice.
Yeah, I like rape.

That is exactly what we need! An overweight QB with an IQ of 6 who has major accuracy issues.
I like the idea of bringing in a QB, I just don't think that Russell is the right guy. I am assuming that he is making league minimum for a QB and they figure they can just cut him after camp if he isn't any good.

If Marvin Lewis doesn't like him, he won't play. The Bengals are not desperate for a back up QB. They could use a veteran signal caller, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to have someone on the team that could be groomed as a replacement for Palmer.
But I don't see how a tryout of this POS makes the Bengals any more of a joke than they were before. And I still don't see why everyone is concerned about PacMan and Matt Jones either. There is a very good chance that none of these 3 will even make the team. So what is the big deal.
I will warn everyone right now..... the Bengals and Mike Brown will continue to sign players with less than stellar track records. In fact, pro football in general will continue to give guys extra chances. If you plan to get worked up every time the Bengals sign someone who has been in trouble before, save yourself a lot of aggravation and just buy some Colts gear or something and become a fan of a different team.
I wonder if these same people get pissed off when they touch the burner on the stove and find out it is friggin hot EVERY single time? Unless the Bengals come out and say "we will never sign a player with a history of trouble again" why is anyone surprised or worried about it?
After all, Mike Brown is "The Redeemer", remember? Who Dey!!

I wish I had that fat a$$es' $37 million.
Can we say that Russell committed "arm robbery" on Al Davis?

Cedric Benson was one of those piece of shit players they brought in.
Look what he's done.

He will visit a few teams. He has very little chance here but I would like a better backup than what we have now. At least from what I saw last year.
Would you be surprised to see Roethlisberger in camp?

It takes two to tango - if it weren't for Jon Gruden, imagine how much more of a mess the Raiders could have been since relocating to Oakland.
But given the state of these two teams, you may as well change the Bengals' colors to silver and black.
