Probably a smart move.

I thought he'd go through a few more workouts at least...

"So Chris, how did the big east prepare you"
"...uh, I'm Chris Wright....you know, from Dayton? I just came to work out"
"Ah No No No son, you're not ready."
"yes sir, thanks for the t-shirt"

Jealous of ud? for what? Having a midget coach?
Chris Wright was as ready for the NBA as Terrell Holloway....and even that could be giving him a bit too much credit.
It should be public knowledge, I am a fan of gladdenguy. But if my man is jealous of anything related to dayton, I must move for a suspension of his posting priveleges for at least 3 days.
All in favor?
Have to laugh at this statement from the Blackburn Review prior to Wright declaring he's coming back...
"Considering [Chris Wright] is expected to go somewhere in the second round of the Armenian draft, I think it is safe to say that Wright will be back for his senior year."
I'll say one thing, Wright is certainly making the most of the communicative vehicle that is the press conference. He held one to announce he was entering the draft, and this afternoon he held one to say he's coming back 10 days before the deadline to back out.

I abstain from voting on that one, since I carry the mod and obvious dayton hater monikers, nuts.
As for Wright. Him going back to dayton was a "no freaking duh" decision. If anyone wasn't ready to make the leap, especially THIS year, Wright was the guy. He was underwhelming last year, to say the least. Add the number of early entrants into the mix, and Wright would have been looking at going overseas....and I'm not even talking about the premiere overseas leagues either. Sure, test the waters, but man, when you see that the water is too deep and you can't swim, stay out of the water.
I HATE dayton.

Ok, I am not jealous of Dayton. I can't afford a ban. This board is my life.

The guy from Blackburn Review is hilarious.
As to "press conferences" I would request that the great "Q" post a thread about some of his past experiences with "press conferences" that were nothing more than self-aggrandizement. I love people that use the press for nothing more than an ego trip.
I'll bet there are some classics.

My all-time favorite was when Mike Piazza held a press conference to tell everyone he wasn't gay. Anyway...
I imagine the next press conference we'll see from Chris Wright is when he records his 100th career dunk at UD.

I think that already happened....the announcers during the game sounded like Meg Ryan from When Harry Met Sally

Wright pretty much had to have a press conference and pretend like it was a great struggle to make this decision given that he did the same thing last year. He's a guy that should have gone as quickly as possible, relied on his physical gifts to get a foothold, then develop his game in the pros.
On the other hand, he'll probably end his career as the NCAA's all-time leader in substitutions.
