Is it their goal to hire coaches that can't win NCAA tournament games (Pernell, now Gregory)?

So Gregory was a target for the position at DePaul.
Gregory says he isn't interested in DePaul.
Purnell leaves Clemson for DePaul.
Gregory is allegedly a target for Clemson.
Someone's job/program prestige ladder is off...(I would ventrue to say Purnell's)
Clemson>DePaul
DePaul>Dayton?

They do get into the tournament.
Ya, when that used to mean something. Now 95 other teams will get in as well

They would fail at their goal if they hired Gregory considering he has won an NCAA tournament game.

$15M over 7 years would cause you to reorder your ladder too. Purnell was in the right place at the right time for a program desperate to hire a "name" coach to start its turn-around.

Hello everybody,
“After my freshman year, we’ve been in (the Top 25) and the locker room is really not jumping for joy that we’re in the Top 10,” Love said. “That’s where we expect to be. We play well on offense and defense, we have a good team with a lot of talent, so it’s not a big thing.”

Great work you are doing good just keep it up. You need a little bit more work to get your position in top 10.

July 4, 2008. Dayton one of the top 10 worst cities for jobs

Clemson would be a perfect fit for Gregory. The Tigers, in basically all sports, are always worse than they are supposed to be, and always collapse down the stretch. It's a match made in heaven, just like it was for Purnell. dayton is a great coaching prep school for that kind of job.

So Wake Forest's "go to" place (until now) for coaches was Xavier.
Clemson's is udump.
Of course they always fail at the season's end. It's ingrained in dump dna.
