Hey guys,
Not sure if you heard, but there's some no-name, no -talent DIII school that just got a special exemption to play in the national title game as a buy game for Duke.

Seriously, could this matchup been more overblown. Making something out of nothing, and nothing = two top 10 teams that play good fundamental basketball and good defense, well coached, neither are overly dominant in the grand scheme of things this year. You'd think at some point someone ask "How is Duke going to beat Butler?"

Maybe one of the most overblown underdog stories I've ever seen, and have been forced to listen to for the last 48 hrs. I was at the game at Hinkle this year and could not stomach rooting for Butler until I just couldn't take the ridiculous DvG BS any more. GO BULLDOGS!

i agree. butler is no david.

then again, david vs goliath was probably much more evenly matched than what history has us remember. david had a sling, which was a deadly weapon. goliath didn't. he just had a sword and armor. he needed to get right up on david to slay him. david, on the other hand, could easily take him out from twenty yards away. go figure. if you sling a stone at someone from tewnty yards away at well over a hundred miles an hour and nail them in the head, they're going down.

When a team is a preseason Top Ten team, they are in no way a David.

I HATE dayton.

I guess the only thing you can say is the CBS has to sell a story to people who don't watch college basketball. This was the easy, tried and true way to go.

Yeah, the David vs Goliath think was stupid. Yes if you look at the stats of past tournament success, but Butler was not a total surprise this year. I think most people were surprised that they finally lived up to the hype of their high pre-season ranking.

This was no David vs Goliath battle.

Butler is going to be a pre-season top five for the up-coming season. I just hope Xavier can take them down when we play them next season.

Gawd.

Was there anything more forced and cliched than CBS and Jim Nantz out of nowhere with about 5 minutes left going to the Hoosiers "Let's win one for all the small schools out there that never got here" card and playing music from the movie? Really, c'mon.

They were just itching to pull that one out and it was sickening. How about just staying with the game between two damn good basketball schools no matter how "big" they were? The game sold itself. Pulling that crap out at that time was just pap.

Seriously, though, is there any excuse for Brad Stevens not having the picket fence in their arsenal?!? How could they even consider running anything else when they had the opportunity to take the final shot to win it?
