At least they didn't embarrass the league.

That's something.

Is the DePaul presser announcing Brian Gregory coach tomorrow or are they going to wait until Tuesday?

it really is a sad thing for your school when you have the most wins at MSG for non-New York schools. that just says you are second rate because your don"t play in the real tourny.

Dayton has the longest winning streak in the A-10!

With Daytons 2 wins at MSG this week doesn't that tie UC for the same amount of wins in MSG in the last 5 years and they have played St. Johns there 2 or 3 times as well as their conference tourney for the last 5 years.

The UD board is elated. And they should be. They beat some good teams.

But what a weird thing an NIT title is. While no one outside of Dayton cares about it, the fans and players couldn't be happier. I guess that's not a bad way to end a season.

Here's a scary thought.

Because of the potential expansion of the NCAA Tourney, this may have been the last post-season NIT. You know what that means?

No matter what else you can say, winning the NIT is a better achievement than the other 31 teams that were in that tournament can claim.

I say, way to go, Flyers.

Penn St. won the NIT last year pretty much sums up the NIT. How'd that work out for them this year? But congrats to the Flyers and their 7 seniors.

Hey, if you're in the NIT you might as well win it, and I congratulate Dayton too.

But I just think if I was a Dayton fan right now, I'd be thinking, "How did this team lose to St. Joe's and Duquesne?"

I'd be happy they won the NIT but at the same time irritated that this same group of players and coaches couldn't figure out a way to get into the NCAAs.

Any time you win a tournament it's good. Congratulations to those seniors. Those kids something all of us should be proud of, beat UC and lost twice to our team. They should enjoy that win and now join the Worry About Our Coach Club:D

I've been impressed by Dayton's performances over the past two weeks and they are deserving victors of the competition. They deserve a lot of criticism for pissing away what appeared to be a promising season, but some plaudits for sacking up and finding a way to go out with pride.

I think it is a good accomplishment. The NIT had a decent field this year, and they won.

I think it does prove how royally they screwed up the regular season though.

On spot.

They earned the championship and played well too.

I tried to watch the Dayton-NC game and, of course, fell asleep while watching it. I guess its a subconscious thing.

Nobody goes into the season saying they want to win the NIT. I can't wait to see them hang that banner up. The NIT is irrelevant in the world of college hoops.

I watched the game and pulled the entire time for UD...hasn't happened in recent memory. However, they did a good job of representing the league and I enjoyed watching that specific team play.

I also watched Staten, in the Oak Hill vs Mt. St. game, attempt to enter the huddle on the Mt. St. team after the foul. If this was a Xavier recruit trying to do this...it would be all over UD Pride as "classless" and "Punk Xavier Player"...I thought it was a good try, nothing big.

Anyway, he didn't do much in that game, but with Lamb and the kid going to UCONN, that Oak Hill team is talented...but not enough to win that game.

I don't think Lamb to UConn is necessarily right. I understand Kentucky is trying to grab him off the waiver wire.

Except the 1958 Championship. :p

At least they didn't quit like UC and Illilnois so I'll give them that.

However, we will all hear about the time UD beat UNC to win the NIT title for the next 70 years. It's going to be awful.
