This is a little surprising to me. A good surprise though.

Every time she "got hurt" in Monday's game I thought why take another year of potential threatening injuries (on already fragile knees) when you could make money right away ?

In any case the other A-10 coaches might as well forfeit now, there no way they're gonna take this thing from X.

Good news.

I plan to attend a few more games next year. And they serve beer there.

This is soooo exciting! It def takes some of that sting away that I've had in the pit of my stomach the last couple of days.

Thank you so much Amber, and I believe Xavier Nation is thrilled to have you for 1 more year. Now, go shatter some records next year!

Thank you Amber! You have made a wise decision. The Stanford game opened up the national media's eyes, and I think you'll receive great things next year, both individually and team wise!

Hey Homer! Just wanted to give you a shout out for sticking up for Xavier on Rebkells. I read all the time but have never set up an account. Some of the things they say is soooo frusterating. Anyway, thanks for having our back!

There are some good posters on Rebkells, but a lot of the people on that board really have no idea what they're talking about.

Also, that board is notoriously pro-Big 10, Big 12, ACC, Big East, Pac 10, SEC

Thank you Amber and good luck next season. Now if only Coach Mack could have a similar Twitter post regarding #55.

That is awesome news - clearly she wants to add a few more things to her resume before she moves on to the WNBA. Next year would have been shaping up to be anywhere from good to great without Amber (and keep in mind it won't be easy to replace April Phillips and Dee Dee Jernigan) to a Final 4 contender for 2010-11.

Thank you Amber for coming back for one more year!

We're definitely going to need some help in the post with April gone. No one else really saw any meaningful minutes in the frontcourt this year beyond Amber, Ta'Shia and April.

Plus, we need to get some bodies in, or else 2011-2012 could be a loooooong season.

Anybody know what recruits are coming in next year besides Ashley Wanninger of Colerain who is a 2 guard with a nice three point shot.

Anybody know what recruits are coming in next year besides Ashley Wanninger of Colerain who is a 2 guard with a nice three point shot.

This is what ESPN has:

2010 Player Commits
NAME POS HT WT SCHOOL RANK GRADE STATUS NOTES
Lakeisha Crouch Forward 6-0 Hillsboro H.S. (TN) F #5 95 Signed
Lynette Holmes Wing 6-2 Bogan H.S. (IL) W #15 93 Signed
Shaquita Smith Point Guard 5-7 Amherst Central H.S. (NY) PG #35 89 Signed
Latisha Walker Post 6-1 Lutheran East High (OH) P #25 89 Signed
Shatyra Hawkes Point Guard 5-3 St. Frances Academy (MD) PG #68 84 Signed
Ashley Marie Wanninger Guard 5-6 Colerain H.S. (OH) 40 Signed

Crouch is ranked #25 in the country and #5 at her position.

Holmes is ranked #83 in the country and #15 at her position.

I would say the class looks really good

I'll take the #18 rated class every day...

18. Xavier Musketeers
Xavier commits: Lakeisha Crouch (No. 25), Lynette Holmes (83), Shaquita Smith (NR), Latisha Walker (NR), Shatyra Hawkes (NR), AshleyWanniger (NR)
This class qualifies as a reloading class for the Musketeers. The duo of Amber Harris and Ta'Shia Phillips won't last forever and while those two won't be replaced individually, this class does it collectively.

Thanks for the input. It looks like they have covered their loses well if these girls are advertised.

I think the lady Muskees will be as good, if not better than this year. I mean, with Harris, T, and Special starting for sure, that provides a ton of experience along with great talent. Don't forget about Routan, who hopefully improves her quickness a little. And then we have good looking recruits coming in... so in my mind, that all adds up to a final four. I set my expectations high:D

The Women's team is great! We can't wait until next year after a terrifiic year! The whole team looks great next year. I've met a few of the ladies and it's always been very nice - first class. I'm planning on being at the banquet (i.e. coming for Chicago and willing to pay some $$ to help support this team!). Maybe I'll even hook up with XU87 at a game next year.

This is a really good class... I'm hopeful that some of the freshmen will be able to come in and contribute off the bench... we need a deeper bench than we had this past season to make a big run next year. I have to imagine that a freshman will take April's spot in the lineup as there aren't any candidates currently on the team.

The only concern that I have with this class is with Lakeisha Crouch -- she is coming off a season ending ACL injury. I hope that this doesn't hurt her play going forward. She was quite a good player in high school.
