I really hope this thread is viewed. Noticed in Golfweek that Jason WON the eGolf event a week ago. Pockets $34K (more than Hooter's Tour less than Nationwide). He shot all 4 rounds in the '60s and his 66 on Sunday was the low round of the day. He must have made a nice "charge" to win. Hope his good play continues to advance his career.

Third place this past week on the eGolf Tour. Another $12k in the bank. I wonder if a battlefield promotion to the Nationwide Tour is possible.

well no there is no affiliation between eGolf tour & Nationwide; however Monday qualifying for Nationwide events or sponsor exemptions (can you here us Chiquita) are possible

Kokrak is the man and I really hope he continues to tear it up and move up the ranks. He deserves it. When he makes it to the PGA Tour full time I'm going to start a group of die-hards to follow him hole-to-hole called "The Krak Heads."

Kokrak won again today. He's the only two time winner on the eGolf Tour this year and is currently #1 on the money list.

He is trying to monday qualify at the Oasis along with Andy Pope.

I know 1 of the sponsor exemptions was awarded to Sam Saunders; Jason may hold a decided head start @ Oasis b/c of familiarity but still will need to <70 to have any chance.

The other excemption went to Wes Homan. Just found out that Jason will be qualifying at Weatherington CC. That is the other course that is holding Monday qualifying. I will be on the bag for Andy Pope at Oasis tomorrow. Our tee time is 8am. Will keep all posted.

Wetherington is much too short for Jason's long game.

That sponsor exemption for Saunders is foolish in my eyes. Other than Arnold being the player consultant on TPC Rivers Bend, they have NO connection to Cincinnati other than course design. Hell, I bet Saunders has never been here. The exemptions should be for local pro's who are from here or have some connection here.

sash: Inviting Sam Saunders is/was very justifiable. He already played well in PGA Tour stops earlier this year and his connections might sell a few tickets. Secondly, the ties between the King and tournament officials in Cincy run very deep for fifty years or more. Arnold & Burch Reiber have been more than close since before your first birthday.

But with all due respect to Wes Homan, his record is entirely local events. Jason Kokrak, Kevin Hall, Alex Martin, Randy Leen can show much more national accomplishments.

Looks like Pope shot 69 and mised out on the playoff by two strokes. The results from Weatherington are not in yet (other than the fact that it took a 68 to qualify).

No Jason nor Andy.

Neither is in the field, nor on the alternates list. Too bad.

I assume Kokrak didn't qualify, because I assume we would have heard something from someone by now if he did. However, if you're just going off the field from the Nationwide Tour's website, that doesn't necessarily mean anything. The guys who qualified from Oasis yesterday are not listed in the field on their website, so I assume those who qualified from Wetherington are also omitted.

Pope is definitely out.

Jason did not qualify but he did get an invitation to next weeks event in Columbus.
Andy shot 69 yesterday, 2 bogeys, 2 birdies and an eagle. He missed 5 putts under 10 feet and was burning edges all day. Disappointed he didn't make it. The man goes flag hunting for every approach. Had a great time caddying for him.

'94: Just so we are clear; did Jason get sponsor exemption for Columbus ? If so quite a deal since that event is a bit bigger & more established than Chiquita; plus Jason's long balls are well suited to Scarlet. He could have a real opportunity to finish high.

Next weeks event in an invitational. There are no sponsor's excemptions. It is based on your nationwide status, or how well you are playing on other tours. He was invited to play next week based on how well he is playing this year.

'94: thanks--just making sure he was in the full field as opposed to trying to Monday-qualify or something else. Jason certainly deserves the opportunity not just b/c his eTour record but also his performances in prior Nationwide events. To reiterate Scarlet suits Jason's power game nicely, and scoring in past year's @ Scarlet is several shots higher than other/typical Nationwide events. Not just one of the birdie-fest putting contests @ Scarlet. Bigger purse too.

Hmmm. I didn't know that Jason's girlfriend's name was "Scarlet".

MOR: just her nickname b/c she never liked being called "Red" !; hope you find time to see Jason in Columbus; the crowds are not difficult, the ticket is $10 and access is simple.

Want to compare/contrast Jason's status to DBrown ? Who has progressed more w/better outlook ?

Second round 66 for Kokrak at the eGolf Tour Championship today to pull into a tie for 3rd place. He's six strokes behind the leader, but if he finishes high he is likely to end up on top of the season money leader standings. He's already locked in a spot in the top 20, which means that his Q-school "tuition" will be paid by the eGolf Tour.
