Tennessee over Dayton (South/Memphis Region)
Kentucky over Michigan State (Midwest/Kansas City Region)
Duke over LSU (South/Memphis Region)
Florida State over St. John's (East/Dayton Region)
Georgia over Oklahoma State (West/Sacramento Region)
Gonzaga over Texas A&M (West/Sacramento Region)
Stanford over Iowa (West/Sacramento Region)
Baylor over Georgetown (South/Memphis Region)

UGA and Gonzaga were the only higher seeded teams to advance, although Gonzaga had a pseudo-home game in Seattle. Tonight's Xavier-Vandy winner draws Gonzaga in the Sweet 16.

Never one to put the cart before the horse, but if they can pull one out tonite, that would set up as a nice little revenge game.

Gonzaga knocking off Texas A&M really opens the door up for a Xavier Elite 8 appearance.

Here's a breakdown by conference going to the Sweet 16:

A-10 - 1 (XAVIER)
SEC - 4 (Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi State)
Big 12 - 4 (Nebraska, Baylor, Oklahoma, Iowa State)
ACC - 2 (Duke, Florida State)
Big East - 2 (Connecticut, Notre Dame)
Pac-10 - 1 (Stanford)
Mtn West - 1 (San Diego State)
WCC - 1 (Gonzaga)

During the year, Xavier has 1 win against Sweet 16 teams (Mississippi State).

For the supposed non-parity in women's basketball, it is impressive seeing 3 schools from non-BCS conferences advancing to the Sweet 16. SDSU was the only school that won on an opposing floor (Texas) to advance, and Mississippi State hammered OSU last night. Notice that the Big 10 will not be represented in the Sweet 16.
