Way to not even show up for the tourney Richmond. What a sad, sad display. At first I thought you were playing Kansas, but then I realized you were playing St. Freaking Marys.

No fire, no enthusiasm, no nothing. You were just glad to make the tourney, and it showed.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I was actually stupid enough to think Richmond would make it in to the second weekend of play. Great job Spiders!

St. Mary is a pretty decent team. They blew out Gonzaga in the WCC Championship.

Still, I thought Richmond would fare a little better. They seemed built to give teams problems in the tournament. But, their weaker inside was on full display with Samhan going off, and SMC thumping them on the boards.

I am so pissed Richmond lost this game. Way to represent the A-10, and not come to play. It amazes me how other A-10 teams always seem to fold when the games matter the most. (only exception in recent years was the 2004 St. Joe's team)

However, I must also give credit where credit is due. Omar Samhan is a MONSTER!! I had the privilege of covering him and Diamond Simpson for few games during the '07 season, and love this guy. If I was Coach Mack I would hand Kenny some tapes of St. Mary's this season and tell him "Watch Big #50! That is how you need to play down low!" He may not be the most athletic guy in the world, but he knows how to use that big body of his, is a rebounding machine, and busts his butt every play. Samhan has a similar story to Jason Love, was over weight/out of shape when he came to St. Mary's, but has a great work ethic which has turned him into a dominate force down low. If King Kenny can develop a game similar to Omar's, X is going to have a very good big man for the next two seasons!!

The other teams in our league are all choke atitsts (except when they play us, they shoot lights out). I think Temple might be legit good, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cornell whoops them. I hate all the teams in our league.

I think Temple can make the Final Four if they simply shoot well from three. It's a long shot, but not beyond reason.

Really,

While TuTu has cajones the size of watermelons, Richmond has cajones the size of.....

.....spiders.

Way to man up and represent the league you pikers.

St Mary's is a solid team. That said, I am very disappointed with Richmond's loss. Maybe Kevin Anderson will explain to us that Richmond is actually the better team.

Richmond looked like they were being led by a Moonie.

Maybe the A10 can explain to us how it came to pass that Kevin Anderson was the POY in the league and Jordan Crawford was not. But, that said, I've had the privilege of watching St. Mary's and Omar play quite a few games this season and in my insomniac haze, I could see they were a very good team. The problem is relatively simple, The A10 has tried to do everything in its power to placate some of the non-Xavier teams. Be it assigning their worst officiating crews headed often by Joe DeMayonese, XU at Fordham. He kept Fordham in the game until the entire team of 6 guys ran out of gas midway through the first half. And yet I think they had more all-league awards than Xavier??? And there is something else. I don't care what lengthy contract he has, with all those national coaching vacancies available, like maybe Seton Hall????? I would imagine he's already let his kids know he'll be looking.
But bottom line, Richmond was a tired team physically and mentally. You can run just so long on adrenalin and then skill takes over.:sword::sword::sword:
