MSU fouled UK with a 3 point lead. It backfired this time with UK hitting the first and missing the second and UK getting the rebound to tie. I still think thats the best philosophy to foul when up 3.

It was hard for Mississippi State to make free throws down the stretch of regulation with their hands around their throats.

The SEC sucks.

It is debatable what the right strategy is. I have seen both work and both fail. I just dont like when people say one strategy is definitely better than the other (not saying you are saying that). I myself have gone back and forth on which I think is better. I dont necessarily think one is better than the other.

Now that it's cost Mississippi State an NCAA bid, this is going to make for a fascinating debate over the years.

I don't know. Calipari didn't foul Kansas a couple of years ago, and the 3 pointer that was made cost Memphis the the NC.

I thought the MSU move was a good play. Soooooo many things had to go right for UK to tie the game. If Wall's shot hits the rim, the game is over. That was the best air ball since Valvano's time.

...and John Wall got the rebound, and he got it because he raced in from outside of the arc way before the ball hit the rim. That just adds to my belief that getting the 3 with 1 + 2 is the lower percentage play. If I am a coach, I don't let them shoot the 3.
